Hey Sevier, so excited to be chatting with you! What would you say brought on your passion for film?

Great question. I would say the movies like “Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi,” “Enter the Dragon” with Bruce Lee, and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” After watching them, I knew I wanted to be like them and “do” that, even though I didn’t really know what “that” was at the time.

What is one movie that has greatly influenced your life?

I would say, “Life is Beautiful” by Roberto Benigni. Just thinking about that movie and how to look at the worst of situations in a beautiful and wonderful way changed my soul. It’s a truly wonderful film that will change your point of view on life and all its trials and tribulations.

What has been your favorite film to work on to date?

“El Guardia.” Everything about it was memorable, from how I got the film, shooting in my homeland of Puerto Rico, to the people that I met and worked with on the film. I made friends for life! When I think about it, it really puts a smile on my face. It was truly a family working together for one goal.

What would be your dream film to act in or produce?

That’s a pretty broad question, but a good one. My dream film to act in would be one with Al Pacino directed by Martin Scorsese, or a Star Wars film. I know, total opposites! My dream film to produce would be anything with the Duplass brothers or the Cohen brothers. I love their style of filmmaking, storytelling, and the characters they create.

Is there anyone you are dying to work/collaborate with in your producing career?

The Duplass Brothers or the Cohen Brothers for sure.

Do you plan on working in the entertainment industry for a long time?

Yes, for a very long time. I want to be part of the Latinx generation that takes our culture and world out of the shadows. What Black and African-Americans have done for their culture and communities in the entertainment industry I want to do with the Latinx and Hispanic culture.

Do you have any projects in the works you can tell us about?

I’m currently working on a few, but it’s a little too early to give too much information. But I can tell you that one is a film called “Secondary Effect,” and another is a film called “Killing Class.” They’re both unique, smart, and clever with a diverse cast. I’m very excited for both.

If you could have a gigantic billboard anywhere with anything on it — metaphorically speaking, getting a message out to millions or billions — what would it say and why? (If helpful, it can be someone else’s quote: Are there any quotes you think of often or live your life by?)

“Life is short. People are not easy to know. They’re not easy to know, so if you don’t tell them how you feel, you’re not going to get anywhere, I feel.” – Nina Simone.

Especially during these times, you have to remember that as crazy as we can all seem to each other, we all want the same things. We all want freedom, equal rights, human rights, and to be happy. I know it doesn’t always look like it, but if you make the effort to listen to others and hear what they’re really saying and what they’re really angry about or scared about, you will see that you have more in common than you think and that the only way out is together.

What is an unusual habit or an absurd thing that you love?

Well my wife thinks it’s absurd that I keep all my shoes in boxes, but I love it!

What is your current go-to movie or show?

Anything and everything stand-up comedy. But if I had to pick a show or movie, “Schitt’s Creek” is mind blowing and I can’t stop laughing!

What do you like to do during your free time?

Honestly, sleep or Netflix. I love getting lost in the vast world of movies and TV shows from all over the world. All genres and types.

Do you have any last things you’d like to tell your supporters?

I think we should all remember that this too shall pass. The events of 2020 have shown us we are all humans going through our own personal journeys, so let’s be a little kind and patient with each other. It really goes a long way. I’m practicing this all the time.
