What inspired you to pursue music?

I’ve always had a passion for music growing up. When I was little – I remember watching the Lizzie Mcquire Movie and thinking one day I wanted to be a pop singer. Throughout my childhood, up until today, I would always resort to music as a way to express movement and emotion. I grew up dancing… so music was a big inspiration to me. Being able to create movement, pictures, and stories through my body was always first inspired by the music. Not until recently did I decide to push towards a career in singing. I’ve always loved music and now I get to create my own image as my own artist and to hopefully fulfill my dreams of inspiring others through art, music, and dance.

Can you tell us a little bit about you?

My name is actually Lauren Elizabeth Bezler. My stage name is Liz Bezler. I grew up in Dallas, Texas as a gymnast for many years training under Olympian and World Champion Kim Zmeskal. At the young age of 6, I was training over 30 hours a week while being homeschooled. Gymnastics was my life and I had a dream of becoming an Olympian gymnast. I learned how to work hard and stay disciplined at such a young age. Those qualities were instilled in me very early and they have truly stayed with me my entire life. I then moved to the small town of Jacksonville, Illinois where I was thrown into public school for the first time. There were no gyms here in this small town so I did have to give up gymnastics. I was devastated. That’s when I found dance and quickly fell in love with it. Before dance, I was extremely shy. Dance gave me a new confidence. As dance took off for me, I joined Sara’s Studio of Dance’s competition team. I competed with her team for 9 years until I graduated high school. I was also captain of my high school dance team, the J’ettes, for 3 years as well. I knew from the moment I started dancing that I wanted to pursue a professional career in the entertainment industry. I LOVED performing. After high school I auditioned for Edge Performing Arts Center’s scholarship program. I was one of 20 lucky dancers to receive this opportunity to train in Los Angeles for 1 year under world renowned choreographers. This was a dream come true for me… I was moving to LA! Once I completed the program, I was signed to a dance agency named Go 2 Talent Agency. I am still with them to this day. I have been working professionally in the dance industry now for 2 years. A few of my credits are Disney Channel, Enrique Iglesias, Hulu Pen15, My Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Universal Mama Mia, Estetica Mag, Mike Peele fitness, Tara Macri, Femmology Vegas, and much more. I am also currently apart of a non profit Christian dance company, Cantinas Arts.

What artists do you look up to right now?

I have always looked up to Beyonce, Britney Spears, and JLo. They are strong/confident women and strong performers who incorporate dancers in their shows. I aspire to put on a high energy show just like them one day. Sassy, fierce, and confident!

Your just released your debut single! Can you tell us about what this single means to you?

This single is my baby! I have been dying to put this out for several months now. I am overwhelmed with excitement that it is finally released. My single Tell Me Nada ft. Kedua was released January 1st, 2019 on all streaming platforms along with the music video on Youtube. I knew I wanted to release it on this date. Releasing it on the 1st was very symbolic to me. New year, new goals, new path is what I keep telling myself. This is just the beginning of my musical journey and I am beyond excited to see where this year with music takes me.

How did your new single get created? & Can you tell us the meaning behind the song?

Tell Me Nada ft. Kedua was written and produced by Kedua himself. Skyler Lexx had opened the door for me when he had expressed potential huge record labels being interested in me as a pop artist. From the moment Skyler told me to go for it was when I immediately reached out to Kedua to produce my music. Kedua is a close friend of mine who has been in the music industry for many years. We were under a time crunch to get this music done. I couldn’t thank Kedua more for dropping everything to help create not 1, but 3 finished tracks. Once we got the ball rolling – there was no stopping us! And now I’ve got my first single out! Also S/O to Chris Koehl for shooting and directing the music video. Tell Me Nada was inspired by my high school experience. Growing up with BIG dreams made me have a target on my back. I was told many times by kids I went to school with that I was “never gonna make it” or that “I work too hard, it’s annoying”. Kids can be mean. I had a fire within me that I’ve been wanting to release for quite some time. Tell Me Nada is basically saying that nobody can tell me I can’t do something! Just watch!

What has been your thought about the reaction of the new song?

I am overwhelmed with the love and support I have gotten from my first single. So many shares and views. I’m at a loss for words except THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to everyone who believes in me and continues to support this journey. I wouldn’t be here without y’all!

Are you excited to start performing your own music live in front of your supporters?

Performing live is what I live for and cannot wait to be onstage performing for my supporters. Making music is a dream come true, but performing is where my real passion lives. I just want to make people smile, laugh, and dance. Hopefully my shows will be able to do that for people of all ages!

How do you want your relationship to be with your supporters?

I want to be 100% real and authentic with my followers. Being me 100% of the time is what I want to be seen as. And I want to encourage everyone to stay true to themselves. I believe we are all in the thing called life together and nobody is above anyone no matter your job or social platform. We are all human and we all need to be their for one another. I want to build a lifelong friendship with my supporters. I want to create and perform for them bringing happiness and inspiration!

What was the craziest fan encounter you have had?

My biggest fans I would have to say are my hometown dance girls. I went home a couple months ago and taught a dance to my unreleased single. Seeing all of the girls dance, sing, and be goofy to my song is what I live for! I wouldn’t call them crazy fans (maybe just crazy girls) – they are my family and I’ve gotten an abundance of love and support from them.

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your supporters?

You can follow me on instagram and twitter @lizbezler. I post their daily! Also my artist page on Facebook, Liz Bezler, is a great way to follow upcoming and current projects.

Are their any other projects in the works you can tell us about?

I am currently in the process of getting to release my first ever EP, coming in February! Stay tuned!

Do you have any last things you want to tell your supporters?

Don’t let anyone or anything come in the way of making your dreams happen. I promise you with hard-work and determination anything is possible. Everyone has their own path and success is not defined by others. Success is defined by your happiness, and as long as you’re happy… that’s all that should matter. Let’s be a team and support one another. Thank you to everyone who has downloaded, shared, played, or listened to my first single. You guys ROCK! Xoxo.
