What inspired you to pursue music?
Growing up i was always performing with my brothers and cousins. We would have shows for parents and family at every gathering , and it just seemed to evolve. I entered beauty pageants as a young girl and would sing as my “talent”, I started taking guitar lessons and quickly my instructor realized I had a knack for song lyrics so he directed me to my development team at Megabite Music Group.
How would you describe your musical style?
I would call it Pop-Indie, I love R&B and songs with a great soulful feel to them.
Did you have a break out song that started things for you?
I did a cover of the Coldplay/Chainsmokers song “Something Just Like This” and the video on youtube went viral on Cover Nation and now stands at almost 10 Million views! Many have now become my subscribers on YouTube so they can always be up to date on my latest videos!!
Your breakout cover song was featured on Cover Nation & now has almost 10 million views. What’s been your thought on the reactions to the song?
I really feel like the song suits my voice well and of course the video we shot was magical. It was the perfect combination of location, and beautiful sunset lighting.
How do you pick which song you are going to cover?
Usually my team and I discuss what the new and hot releases are , and then which one is in the sweet spot of my voice. Ultimately they give me final decision though as to which one I will do.
Your third single “Drop” came out today!! How excited are you to hear your supporters thoughts on the new song?
It started out as an acoustic guitar piece and had a huge response organically on Soundcloud. It has since been reproduced and remixed with the award winning DJ Ortzy and I am excited for my fans to hear it!!
Can you tell us the meaning of the song and how it came about?
Drop is near and dear to my heart, because I wrote it a few years back in High School about a boy I had a crush on. I hope many fans will be able to relate to the lyrics and feeling invisible or ordinary in their life. What you learn is no one is ordinary and everyone is special in their own unique way 🙂
We are so excited to be premiering the music video of your new single, “Drop”. Can you tell us about the new video?
I am excited about the new video because it has the lyrics throughout and my fans always LOVE to know the lyrics!! It is shot in a high school and I think the fans will love the playfulness of it.
With such a massive following, why do you think social media is so important to artists today?
Social Media is of course immensely important to any young upcoming or well seasoned artist. You cannot grow a fan base without it , and its a great way to let your fans know what you are doing , as well as what is coming soon. I love it as a way to touch base with my fan base and they are so kind an generous to me.
What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?
I prefer Instagram & Snapchat and post on both of them fairly often.
Does your fanbase have a name yet?
No, but it NEEDS ONE! Maybe it’s time to start a campaign for an official name!
How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?
I appreciate their support sooo much every single moment and I want to keep this friendly, ongoing support!
Are there any other projects in the works you can tell us about?
After the release of Drop, I have another original song that will be “dropping” in October with a dj from London so stay tuned…
Any last things you would like to tell your supporters?
Just how much their support and love means to me. I read all the comments they leave on my social media as well as YouTube and their generosity, as well as kindness, always inspires me.
