Hey Demie!! So excited to be chatting with you. Where did your love of music come from?

I started off dancing ballet, and that sparked the initial love for music for me. I wasn’t exposed to much popular music as a child, but my mom’s side of the family played a lot of classical violin and so I’ve always been encouraged to appreciate the art form.

Can you tell us what your newest release “SAGE” means to you?

With Sage, I really wanted to create something different. To do so, I had to create this “Demie the Destroyer” persona. I tried to put myself in the shoes of who that person is and the song really kind of manifested into my alter ego. This song is like an introduction of Demie the Destroyer to the world.

How excited were you to get ‘SAGE” out into the world?

Very much so! It’s been sitting in the archives for a while now and I had so much fun filming the video in HK. I’m just really happy with the way it turned out.

How did the concept for the music video come about?

I just really wanted to have fun with it. There isn’t a specific concept really, but I knew I wanted to shoot it in a different country. Since the EP is about traveling and new experiences, I thought what better way to portray that than on the other side of the world?

Do you have any other release plans for summer 2020?

I have an EP dropping soon! Can’t tell you the date yet, but it’s called Airplane Mode and I’m real excited for it to reach your ears.

How do you want your relationship to be like with your supporters?

I just want to be able to be myself with them. I’m a really introverted person so sometimes playing a part of a public figure is too much for me. I just wanna sit back and chill with my fans ya know?

What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

I guess with my mv’s and shows, they might not know that I’m a very awkward and deeply socially anxious person on the inside haha

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

That if I act very awkward, it’s not you… it’s me.

What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?

I don’t have a particular message, I just write songs as a way of venting in my life. I just hope that these tracks somehow have relevance in their lives as well, like a shared memory or experience.

What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?

Community. I write all these songs in my bedroom and the fact that there are people out there who enjoy listening to them really blows my mind- thank you so much.

Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?

Currently, Mereba. I think her music is so beautiful.

Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourself?

It allows you to be personable with your fans. It’s an amazing tool, really. I just need to get better at it haha

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

Honestly, just write more.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

Thank you so much for listening, and if you’re still interested, I have much more coming out.
