Hey Willie!! So excited to be chatting with you. Can you tell us what your newest release “Needed Somebody” means to you?
Needed somebody is a song that I wanted to release because 1) I love the song but 2) I needed to release for my own healing. When I wrote this song it became a confession of hey- sorry I hurt you.
What’s been your reaction to your fans’ love for “Needed Somebody”?
I really feel lucky. As someone who is making a name for myself it is absolutely incredible to see my friends, followers, and fans tagging me in videos of them singing and dancing like it’s the greatest song they’ve ever heard.
How excited were you to get ‘Needed Somebody” out into the world?
I was beyond fired up. Couldn’t wait for it because I’ve held on to it for soooooo long!
Do you have any other release plans for summer 2020?
We are planning to release two more songs over the summer and then an ep in the fall.
How do you want your relationship to be like with your supporters?
My hope is to establish a relationship of authenticity with my supporters. I love to write stories, and specifically stories worth telling. The most powerful thing about music is allowing people to find something in themselves they either didn’t know or forgot was there, and that journey can start by a simple string of syllables. It’s amazing.
What’s something your fans don’t know about you?
Most of my fans don’t know I have a masters in accounting degree and worked with NASA. I also played baseball in college.
What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?
That I’m just excited to meet them as they might be to meet me
What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?
I’ve described my music as emotion in rhythmic color. A less dramatic way of saying that is to simply state that I want my listeners to feel, and then feel good, but most importantly think. Art is meant to inspire and I believe that the words I write are so true that they have the ability to act like a mirror to the listener and inspire them too.
What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?
Joy
Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?
Which decade should I start in haha- this list could go on forever.
Smokey Robinson
Paul McCartney
Carole King
Billy Joel
Elton John
Daryl Hall
Brian Wilson (the beach boys)
But number one on that list would be Bruno Mars with Ed Sheeran as a close second
Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourself?
It allows people to truly get to know me and my goals. It provides a lens for others to see how I see the world of music
What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?
I’ve told everyone in the music industry that I’ve had a meeting with “i want to be as big as Bruno mars, Justin Timberlake, and maroon 5”
But at this moment I would like to hear Ryan Seacrest play a song of mine on as the number one song on AT40.
Any last things you want to tell your supporters?
Thank you, I can’t thank you enough.
