Hey Emily, So excited to be chatting with you! Since it’s officially fall! How was your summer?
Heyyyy!!! My summer was great, we did lots of traveling, because of music opportunities! You were nominated for two categories in the Josie Music Awards. 1) Pop/Contemporary Vocalist of The Year; and 2) Pop/Contemporary Artist of The Year. What was this experience like for you? So much fun and absolutely amazing! It was probably one of the biggest events I’ve ever attended. There were a lot of talented performers that took the stages, and I got to watch Joanne Cash perform live and watch her receive the Lifetime Career Musical Achievement Award. That was very touching. You also brought home “Pop/Contemporary Vocalist of The Year”!! How excited were you when you found out that you won this award?!?! Since it was my very first year being nominated and attending, I totally wasn’t expecting to win at all. When they called my name, I was shocked! My Mom was sitting next to me and I think she nudged me and said something like “Emily, did you hear!” It’s a moment I’ll forever cherish. What do you want your music to do for your fans? What do you want your message to be? Always be yourself, don’t let anyone bring you down, stand up for what you believe in, and remember that everyone is here for a purpose. Are there any projects in the works you can tell us about? I’m always writing, and I get in the studio every chance I get. I have new music coming soon, and I plan to release an ep early January, 2020, with a tour following in mid January! Details will be shared on my website https://www.emilycoleofficial.com/epk I’m an advocate for non profit organizations that raise money for those less fortunate who are battling life threatening diseases. I’m also an advocate for those helping our at risk youth. I recently participated in High School Nation’s Cancel Bullying Lunch Time Tour presented by Hollister and Do Something. Music is an amazing thing, and I loved watching the students dance and have fun. I’m looking forward to being involved in HSN’s future campaigns. In November, I’ll get to perform again for the Houston Via Colori. This is an awesome street painting festival, where artists use chalk and create beautiful pieces of art on the streets that are blocked off to traffic (only foot traffic allowed). I’ve had the honor of performing for 3 years now, and this will be my 4th year. All proceeds go to the Center for Hearing and Speech, which is a nationally renowned Center enabling children with hearing loss to learn to listen and speak. Last year, 7,894 children received services through the Center’s programs!!!! Info can be found here: https://www.viacolorihouston.com Do you have any last things you want to tell your fans? I love you guys! Thank you for listening to my music and always supporting/encouraging me!!!! Thanks for taking the time to do this interview 🙂 Thanks for having me. It’s always so much fun! (: |
