Hey Gunnar! So excited to be chatting with you! You just released your new single “Heartbeat” & it’s awesome! It’s so catchy & relatable!! I love it!! What do you hope your supporters will think of the new song?

I hope they love it as much as I do. It was a blast to write, and the video for it was probably one of the most fun experiences of my life.

Can you tell us the backstory of this song? Is it from a real experience?

Yeah! Everything I write about is true to me and this song came out pretty quick!

You also have more music coming out in 2019!! Can you spill any details on what your supporters can look forward to this year?!?

Yeah this year I’m focusing on getting really good good music. Once we have that everything will fall into place, so I’m just focusing on getting good music. 2019 is definitely going to be a year for me to put my foothold into the industry and show people what I’m meant to do.

Do you have a creative say in your music? Did you help write all your new songs?

Yeah I am very big on being apart of everything I write. I think it’s really important because as a fan of an artist, I want to hear more than just them singing other people’s words. I want to hear the emotion, and hear the story and feel like I am apart of it.

Where did your love of music come from?

I think for everyone who loves music, and for everyone who would say music is apart of them, it comes from something uncontrollable. It’s just a bug I got before I even knew it.

What’s it feel like to be releasing your own original music?

It’s a really cool feeling. And I know this is just the beginning of something really special, so giving my fans the start of this journey is a really exciting thing for me.

Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?

My family. They have been so so amazing and supportive through this all and I am very lucky. Mom, Dad, Lola, Ash, they all make this a possibility. Also my boys JB for always being there, Nick for being here forever. My manager Troy for believing in me from the start of this all. I really though, owe it to everybody who has believed and supported me through this all. It means the world.

What do you think makes your fan community/fandom different from others?

I think we have a true friendship and relationship. I talk to them all as much as I can and we respect each other mutually a lot!

How would you describe your fans? – what’s three words you would use to describe your fans?

Incredible. Family. Army.

What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?

I want them to take away many different things, and sometimes it differs per show or song. Overall I would say I hope they take away that I’m just a kid doing what he loves to do, and that I’m having the best time, and mean everything I say. I obviously do this for me, but a lot of this I now do for them because of how much they do for me and for how much they support me.

You recently opened up for PRETTYMUCH on their US tour! What was that experience like for you?

It was absolutely incredible. I could not have asked for a better start than the tour with them. They are great guys and my friends, and we just became family. I learned so much from them and so much about myself and fans too. It was everything I would have hoped for.

Do you have any preshow rituals that help you get pumped up to meet your supporters?

Yeah. It’s a vocal warm up then some dancing around haha. Just getting excited to see their excitement!!

Are you planning any shows to promote your new music?

Absolutely in the future! Like I said right now I am just getting good music written. Once we are releasing yes I will definitely be doing some TV appearances.

What is it like performing in front of your fans? Are you excited to start performing your own music live!?!

There’s nothing greater in the world. Performing is the most fun part of this for me, and it’s the fans favorite part of this all too. It’s one giant party while we’re doing it.

What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

I can catch any food thrown to me in my mouth repeatedly.

What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?

Joy.

With an already massive fanbase your fans must they have a name for themselves. What do your fans call themselves? And How did that fanbase name catch on?

My fans are my family. My army, my G’s.

Many of your supporters are starstruck when they meet you, Have you ever been starstruck?

I don’t know actually. I think that we all just should see each other as normal people doing what we love. This is all so crazy and unique as is, that I think we should all have mutual respect for one another, no matter how big or small an artist is.

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

SAY HI!!! I love meeting you all and talking. Don’t ever be afraid to come say hi. It means a ton to me.

Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?

I really wanna meet Dua Lipa. #crush

Why do you think social media is so important for teen artists like yourself?

I think social media is important because it allows me to keep my fans in the know. They always know what’s going on and how everything is going which is really important. I also think it’s key because I can connect to fans across the globe, not just in specific places.

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

Right now it is to perform in arenas.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

I love you all. Thank you for always supporting me and showing me love. It makes me want it that much more.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview! Can’t wait to see all that you accomplish & hopefully we can talk again soon 🙂

Thank you!! Me too 🙂
