Hey Ruby Jay! So excited to be chatting with you again! You just released  your new single “Sike”! How excited are you that this song is finally out into  the world?

I am so excited! This song has been in the works for a while now and I can’t wait for everyone to finally hear it.

What do you hope your supporters will think of the new song?

I hope they will enjoy this new style and sound I’m trying to find. Hopefully they love it as much as I do.

Can you tell us the backstory of this song? Is it from a real experience?

Yes, it is based on a real life experience that I had, but I will not be naming names haha. The basic idea of it is that there was this guy who couldn’t make up his  mind on some things, and just ended up leading me on and keeping me in his back pocket, so after around 2 months I was just kinda like, ok dude, I’m out.

You also have more music coming out in 2020!! Can you spill any details on  what your supporters can look forward to from you the rest of the year?!?

You can definitely look forward to some new music, and they are all in the new sound I’m trying to find! I can’t wait for you all to hear.

Do you have a creative say in your music? Did you help write all your new  songs?

Yes! I actually wrote “Sike” as well as “Young Love”, “My Universe”, “Royalty”,”  Cherry Pop”, and “Vivid Dream”. I also co-wrote some of my new music releasing soon.

What’s it feel like to be releasing your own original music?

Its such a cool feeling. My music is a form of expressing myself through art, so  the fact that I have the opportunity to record, and release my music is so amazing. I am  very lucky to have a very supportive family, as well as friends and fans.

Will there be a music video for your new single? If so, can you tell us about  the concept of the video

As of right now there probably will not be a video because of Covid-19 and I don’t  know how we would safely be able get a good product to release. Maybe after Covid-19  has passed we will do one though!

What’s been the pros and cons of pursuing your music career?

Well a major pro is that I have the opportunity to express myself in art through  songwriting and singing. That has always been a big passion of mine. When it comes to  cons I wouldn’t really say that I have one. One of the more difficult parts about singing  and songwriting though for me specifically, is that my first priority is my acting career, so finding time to write and record music can be challenging. But in the end, its always  worth it.

Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are  today?

First and foremost, I would not be where I am today without my families support,  but most importantly my moms support. She is the one who really took all of her time and effort to help me figure out how I could pursue my dreams and release music as soon as I mention it. I legitimately would not be where I am today, in anything including acting, without her love and support.

What do you think makes your fan community/fandom different from others?

I think all fans in all fandoms are absolutely incredible, and my fans specifically  are always so understanding of the fact that, you know, I am only human. I sometimes am off social media for weeks at a time just because I’m busy with work and living in the  moment, but as soon as I get back on, they are right there spreading kindness.

How would you describe your fans? – what’s three words you would use to  describe your fans?

very supportive, kind, loving

What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want  your fans to take away from your music and shows?

I want my fans to know that I love them all so very much, and I hope they can find happiness and enjoyment in my music and shows. Especially during 2020,  everyone needs a bit of an escape, and as an artist I hope I can provide that.

Are you planning any IG Live shows to promote your new music?

As of right now we don’t have any scheduled, but I am doing some fun video stuff  that I can’t wait for everyone to see!

What is it like performing in front of your fans? Are you excited to start  performing your own music live!?!

I always get so nervous when performing live, but as soon as I get on that stage that all just kinda disappears and your in the moment. I would live to do some live performances soon, but with covid-19 I don’t see any of those happening soon.

What do you want your supporters to know that you think is important?

I want them all to know that they are important, they are enough, and that  someone loves them. I also hope they all have an amazing day.

What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

Something I feel like a lot of people don’t know about me is that I love to crochet. Like a lot.

What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?

Entertainment

What do your fans call themselves? And How did that fanbase name catch on?

I don’t know if my fans have a name for themselves….. but if they do I would love  to hear it!

Many of your supporters are starstruck when they meet you! Have you ever  been starstruck?

I don’t actually get starstruck whenever I meet someone from the Tv & Film or Music industry, but when I see someone who was on broadway, now thats a different story. I completely loose my mind and control of my senses whenever I see a broadway star, I just wanna give them a hug!

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

If you see me in public come say hi! I love meeting you all, and I promise I don’t bite haha.

Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?

I would love to meet Lizzo, Bazzi, and Beyonce. They are such amazing artists and I would love to meet them.

What’s your current go-to song?

Literally any song by Bazzi is on a constant repeat in my room.

Why do you think social media is so important for teen artists like yourself?

I think social media is important for artists because its an amazing way to promote your music and also connect with your fans! It gives you an opportunity to really talk to these people and get their feedback on your products.

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

My biggest goal in life has always been to be one Broadway. Always has been and always will be.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

I love you all so much and thank you for believing in me!

Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions 🙂
