Hey Amelie, You just got cast in the popular BRAT series “Chicken Girls.” Can you explain the process of how you got this role?

Hi! The process for my role of “Sadie” is a super fun story. I auditioned for “Chicken Girls” with a self-tape that was super last minute because I had just landed in Spain. It was honestly not my best self-tape, but I tried my best with the short amount of time I had, submitted it, and hoped for the best. About a week later, I got a call saying I booked the role (I was actually in London on Thanksgiving eating dinner when I got the call). I cannot even begin to express my level of excitement when I found out I booked the role. About four days later, I flew to LA to start shooting, and the rest is history.

Can you explain the character you portray?

I have the wonderful honor of playing “Sadie” and man, she is such a fun character to play, and I am so grateful I get to portray her. Sadie is TK (Hayden Summerall’s) girlfriend in the show, and she has quite a personality on her. She comes from Texas, has that cowgirl sass, and a bit of a spitfire. She is a mix of a girly girl country girl with a lot of spunk, lack of filter, and snobby sass. This character was really fun to prepare for since I am normally not a mean girl at all!

What do you think makes this show stand out from other shows that have been aired on BRAT?

BRAT has a fantastic variety of teen shows on their channel, and they are all so good and represent so many amazing real-life situations. I think what makes Chicken Girls stand out from the others is that it was one of the first series to be released on their channel, so it’s really an OG. It also had the consistent characters portraying real-life situations that kids ended up watching grow up right in front of them and their characters. People were and have been able to form connections with the show’s characters and grow with them. That is unique.

What do you like most about being on a show that’s aired on YouTube?

Being on a YouTube show is so much fun, and I am so grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of such a great concept. What is so cool about YouTube shows is that anyone can watch from phones, tablets, and TVs for free anywhere in the world. It is so amazing because it allows everyone to watch real television shows but on YouTube. I also cherish the ability to have reached so many different fans and wonderful people worldwide.

What’s your favorite part about being on “Chicken Girls”?

Being on Chicken Girls is something I cherish every day, and I feel so lucky to be a part of such a fantastic cast of individuals. My favorite part about being on Chicken Girls is honestly the friendships I’ve made and the fun we have on set BTS. It is always a blast; we make the funniest videos.

How excited are you to start filming?

When we started filming, I was so excited; it all began so fast that I was over the moon. I was “nervcited” as I say, a mix of being nervous and excited. The feeling was something I will never forget, and I was so happy to be able to embody Sadie and present her to the world.

What’s it like working alongside well-known artists like Annie LeBlanc & Hayden Summerall?

When I found out I booked this role of “Sadie” with such insanely talented individuals, I was overwhelmed with excitement. Working with this ensemble is so much fun; they are all so humble, they were so welcoming to me, and I am so grateful for that. We have all become such amazing friends, and it is crazy to think that just a few months ago, we didn’t know each other at all. I was a bit nervous when I first got on set, I think my very first scene was with Hayden, and I will be honest, I was “nervxited again lol.” Hayden and the rest of the team were so kind and helped make me feel super comfortable; it seemed like we had all been friends forever.

Since season six is in the making, can you spill any details on what the supporters can look forward to this season?

Chicken Girls season six is a crazy one (in a good way lol). It has so many new elements and twists compared to other seasons. It also addresses a lot of different issues and situations that many teens and young kids might be going through. Like eating disorders, getting involved with people that are bad influences, and situations that we all go through or will at some point in our lives. Addressing right from wrong, embracing diversity and understanding the effects of those that don’t, lying to your parents, or just the normal romantic feelings and relationships teens go through. It is a great avenue for our generation to know that they are not alone, especially right now, when so much is changing for us and our world. It is very important for our generation and people, in general, to know that they are not alone. When fans see these characters that they adore go through all of these trials and tribulations, I think it really helps the fans be able to relate better to our characters and feel a connection.

Are there any other acting projects in the works you can tell us about?

I have several projects in the works and was actually in the middle of working on one back in March before the production had to halt because of the virus. I would love to say more about the projects, but as you know, we usually aren’t allowed to say too much about them until closer to their release. But I am so excited for everyone to see everything that is coming up. I am also working hard to release tons of new Instagram Reels content as one of their creators. My fans have been asking to see some of this content from me, and I am excited to begin sharing. I’ve also had several brands approach me to start working on some possible merch, so you might want to keep your eyes out for that!

Did you have a favorite role you played? If so, what was the role, and why was it your favorite?

To be honest, Sadie has actually been my favorite role that I have played for sure. Of course, I have loved every character that I get to embody, however playing Sadie is just so different from anything I’ve done because she is the mean girl, and I had to do extra preparation for it.

You have also created a huge social media presence for yourself. Why do you think social media is so important for teen actors today?

I feel that social media has created such an excellent and more accessible way for anyone to present themselves to the world and be discovered. I love social media because it allows me to make new friends and connect with ones I often don’t see. It will also enable me to unlock other branches of people by posting different videos, etc. and reaching fans worldwide and connecting with them. It helps me be able to present myself and my life and passions daily to my fans, where we can all connect and have a sense of community.

How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?

Waking up every day and checking my socials and DMs is something that I am so grateful for. When it comes to my fans, I honestly think of them all as amazing friends, they all support me so much and hype me up, and I always do the same. Through my platform, I love spreading positivity and communicating with my fans, always letting them know that I am here for them, just like they are there for me.

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?

I try to be super active across all social media platforms; however, my main platform that I use most would definitely be Instagram, because I really enjoy the layout of it:))

Does your fan base have a name? What would you call them?

I actually do not have a set fanbase name; however, I have been trying to figure out a good one. 🙂 Be original is something that I live by, and its something that I say and emphasize on my Instagram, so I feel that for a fanbase name, I would use that saying somehow, tag me with some good ones lol:)

Have you had any crazy fan encounters?

I have had some super funny fan encounters. Meeting my fans is honestly something that makes me so so happy. One time I was going into a local mall in my hometown, and I was not looking my best lol, and a group of girls ran up to me so excited (it was so adorable). Usually, fans ask for pictures and stuff, but these girls all asked me to sign the phone cases or shoes, and it was so so fun but not like any other fan encounter I’ve had.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

I think it’s extremely important to be happy in life and focus on positivity. Being happy, positive usually brings happy, positive things back. To all my fans to continue to be yourself and truly yourself because I can guarantee that it will get you somewhere. 🙂 Dream big and put the work in; the results and greatness will come with time and commitment. I love you all beyond.

Thanks for taking the time to answer these questions 🙂
