What inspired you to pursue music?

I’ve always been drawn towards music and creating, but the initial inspiration came from the richness of gospel music. I fell in love with the striking precision and excitement of pop music as I grew older. I felt the push to create music that allowed those two to meet.

How would you describe your musical style?

Fresh, honest, vulnerable pop music – inspired by every area of my personal experiences and the desire to spread light and truth.

What artists/bands are you influenced by?

Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, Whitney Houston, Barbara Streisand

What do you think is the benefit of having a following on social media in the music industry?

I love the direct connection with the people listening to the music. It’s so easy to continue a relationship with my listeners. I also love that my followers can see some pieces of the reality of the music industry and my life.

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?

Instagram!

What goals have you set out for yourself in your career?

More than anything, as cliche as it is, I want to stay true to who I am and what I believe. I want to keep creating music that’s honest, spreading as much light and love as I can.

How has this whole music career experience been?

An absolutely amazing learning process – like anything, it has its challenges, but it’s allowed me to grow and learn while doing what I love most. I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. I’m excited for what’s next.

What have you learned from all the amazing writers and producers you have worked with during your career?

I’ve learned more than I could ever write down on paper. It’s funny, walking out of a session I always feel like I’ve grown as a writer and artist, but also as a human being. Creating music is very personal and vulnerable for me – I’m grateful for the writers and producers who welcomed that honesty, and pushed me and helped me to create melodies and lyrics that reflect that.

What would you say has been your biggest accomplishment in your career so far?

I’m really excited about my debut album! A lot of baby steps and tiny accomplishments helped in making this album a reality. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share this music.

Do you have any last things you want to tell your supporters?

I’m so thankful that you’re willing to listen. I’m thankful that you’re willing to take these songs and make them your own. You are never alone, and you are never too far from the light. There is love and hope all around. Keep dancing and singing and being exactly who you are – you are beautiful!
