Hey Olivia!! How’s your summer been so far?
My summer has been fantastic! Since the last day of school I’ve basically done something everyday. I love hiking and on the east coast there are so many amazing trails on the Appalachian mountain. My friends and I swim everyday, water ski and get ice cream. Basically just hang out! Now I’m in LA so I’ve been working a lot but I still get to have fun out here at events with my friends.
Can you tell our readers what you’ve been up to since last time we talked?
My song Missing U has been met with a lot of success. I am really happy about that. It is currently #13 on the New Music Weekly AC charts and it is the winner of Song of the Month from Songwriter Universe. I have also been working on new music, I’m releasing a new song at the end of the month and I’m writing and recording some more this month as well!
You have a new single coming out very soon, can you give our readers any details about the new song?
It’s gonna be something COMPLETELY different from anything I’ve released ever! I would rather not say more than that and just keep the rest a surprise!
How did the idea for this song come about?
The name of the beat was really cool and reminded me of an old song my mom and I always jammed to and so I decided to keep the name of the song the same as the beat and write the song based on that.
Any fun moments while creating the song?
Yeah! When we were in the studio we were just recording Missing U and during my lunch break the engineer played the beat for my new song and inspiration struck and we wrote and recorded my new song in just 3 hours.
What’s been your favorite song to write & record and why?
Both Missing U and my unreleased song US2 have been so fun to write and record since it was my first real time working with established writers and producers and getting to experience working with such talented people.
Which one of your own songs is your favorite to perform live?
I love singing Missing U since it’s such a catchy song everyone in the audience starts singing along and it gets a great energy going and I can see how happy people get.
What does it feel like to perform your own music live in front of your supporters?
It is insane. It’s the coolest experience in the world to see people enjoy something you’ve worked so hard on and getting to do something that makes you happy make others happy too.
Are you planning to release a music video for your new single?
Yessssss I am shooting it very soon with the same love interest as Missing U, tariq Brown since it is going to lead off of that video.
Are there any other projects in the works you can tell us about?
Yes there is but it is sort of under wraps at the moment.
You have also created a huge social media presence for yourself. Why do you think social media is so important for teen actors & singers today?
It is a way of promoting and sharing yourself with people, you can create your own little world with a touch of a button. It is a great way to connect with people from every walk of life and meet new friends and talk to supporters!
