Hey Jessica! We are so excited to be talking with you about your new role in the Nickelodeon movie, Alex & Me. Can you explain the process of how you got this role?
I auditioned for the role of Claire first, and then I was asked to audition for many other roles in the movie. I ended up getting a callback for Claire and I found out a few days later that I got the role.
Can you explain the character you portray?
I play Claire Bishop, the mean, popular girl who becomes the soccer enemy of the protagonist.
What do you think makes this movie standout from other movies that have been aired on Nickelodeon?
Alex & Me stands out because Alex Morgan, who is a huge inspiration to many people, actually stars in the movie.
What’s your favorite part about being in this movie?
My favorite part is the friends that I have made from this movie and being able to be a part of something that is making an impact on kids.
What’s your favorite part about being on set?
Having fun with cast in between takes and playing soccer every chance we could.
What was it like guest starring on the popular crime shows “Criminal Minds” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation”?
It was really cool because those types of shows have always been my favorite, and both of those roles were really unique, and it made me love intense and dramatic scenes.
Did you have a favorite role you played? If so what was the role and why was it your favorite?
My favorite role would probably be my role in CSI because it was one of my first big roles and I found a new love for drama.
Are there any other acting projects in the works you can tell us about?
An HBO miniseries I worked on called Sharp Objects comes out July 8th, and my short film, Broken, will be making the festival rounds.
Did you always know you wanted to be an actress?
I always knew I loved to perform, but I started out in acting classes just to try something new, and I ended up loving it.
Who has influenced you in your acting career so far?
Jennifer Lawrence has influenced me a lot in my acting career and I have learned so much from her just by watching her movies.
Have you ever been starstruck by anyone you’ve met so far?
I was definitely starstruck when I saw Amy Adams on the set of Sharp Objects for the first time!
What are your friends and parents thoughts on your career in acting?
My friends and family are very supportive of me, especially my parents who have made it all possible.
What goals have you set out for yourself in your career and in your personal life?
One of my most important goals I have set for myself is to maintain really good grades and a successful acting career.
If your life was a movie, what would be the title?
There’s always room at the top.
