Hey Kiera!! We are so excited to be premiering your new single “Cadillacs”!!! Can you tell us what this song means to you?

Hi! Thank you so so much! This song is so special to me. It is about love overcoming the material struggles of this life, and it was inspired by my parent’s love story. They’ve been together since they were 17 and have been through a lot together. I am using a photo of them when they first started dating as the album artwork.

What’s been your reaction to the fans anticipation for your new single?

It’s been a while (October 2019 was the last single) since I’ve released music, so folks have seemed excited to hear something new! Anytime someone is excited to hear my art, it means so much to me. I think this tune is extra special, so it truly brings my heart so much joy when people express that they are excited to listen.

How excited are you to get this single out into the world?

oh my goodness, I am so excited. I think this tune is the most vulnerable tune I’ve released. The lyrics also tell a very specific story, which I hope the listener will really hear. The song feels nostalgic, almost a little bit vintage, and open. I hope you can roll your windows down and just belt the chorus out in the summer breeze. Because we all struggle, but we are all in this together! *cue the choreography*

Do you have any other release plans for 2020?

As of right now, I’m taking it one single at a time. I would love to release another song this year, but financially I am not so sure I’ll be able to make that happen. However, I will absolutely be working on other projects that I hope I’ll be able to share with you soon.

What do you hope your supporters will think of the new music?

I hope they will be able to relate! I hope it can make them feel a little bit less alone during this difficult time. I know a lot of us are really struggling right now, and I think this song addresses struggle in an optimistic way, while still acknowledging that life can really be hard sometimes. We are never alone in our struggle, and we will always have companionship. I hope this song will encourage the listener to dance, smile, and hug someone that they love.

How do you want your relationship to be like with your supporters?

I want to be approachable! I’ve never wanted to be the “mysterious artist” who is super cool on social media. To be honest, I’m not “cool” at all, and social media is super intimidating to me. I want anyone and everyone to feel comfortable shooting me a message and sharing with my their favorite song, color, brownie recipe ( please ), anything. I’m an open book, and I just love connecting with people.

What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

I love dinosaurs. It’s super dorky, but anything with a dinosaur pattern on it is my jam. I have t-shirts, mugs, earrings, it’s a problem. If you ever see a cute dino product, feel free to send me a link.

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

Say hi! Ohmygoodness, I cannot express how much it lifts my spirits when someone approaches me and lets me know they’ve heard and/or enjoyed my music. That is why I do what I do, to connect with people! I am also such a hugger, so once all of this pandemic craziness is over and we’re safe to hug, I love hugs!

What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?

It is okay to be a “hot mess”, and to have no clue what you’re doing. It’s okay to not have 100% of you ish together. To be honest, nobody does and we’re all just kind of winging it. I want people to feel heard, be able to laugh, dance, and feel like they are part of something. You are never alone!

What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?

Connection

Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?

Andy Grammer! He is my favorite artist, and is so inspiring to me. His music and the way he carries himself as an artist (and as a human!) is sincerely something I aspire to do.

Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourself?

I’ve talked a lot about connection, but social media is a really awesome tool to connect with people I wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to! A couple of times I’ve had a smaller artist come up on my discover weekly or release radar, and I’ve shot them a message to let them know that I love what they’re doing. How cool is it that I can connect with other artists that way?! And let another artist know that they are killing it. The community of music-lovers and music-makers on social media is so cool, and I feel so lucky to be part of it!

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

My biggest goal is to be able to create music full time. Fame and fortune is not super important to me at all. Honestly, it might even be a little bit overrated. So all I truly want to do is reach people and to make them feel heard. If I can touch just one single person with my art, I’ve accomplished what I’ve set out to do.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

Take care of yourself during this time, and do your part. Wear a mask! Be kind to people and try to give folks the benefit of the doubt when you can. And thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for taking the time to read this interview. I hope you’ll take just a few more minutes and check out my brand new single, “Cadillacs”!

Thank you for taking the time to do this interview with us 🙂

Thank you!!!!
