What inspired you to pursue music?

I’m not really sure to be honest, I think it’s a culmination of years chasing after that enjoyment & whim it brought me as a kid. I remember this moment of ecstasy when I wrote my first song, and played it for my friends, or played my first gig, or even getting a laptop and making a beat for the first time. Those simple times really rooted themselves in me and really kept me going with it, and still do even to this day.

Your new song, ‘Carried Away’ is amazing, What was the process like creating this song?

Thanks a ton! That one started off with a bass riff over those drums, and me free-styling over that phrase over and over, once the concept was dialed, I wrote the song backwards & produced it out.

What was your first thought of your new song?

That it was different than anything I had done, and that it opened up this portal to a more fun, light hearted side I hadn’t tapped into yet.

How did you find out about the song being included in Spotify’s acclaimed New Music Friday?

I was actually riding my bike home from studio late Thursday night, and had headphones on listening to what I thought was the previous week still. Ten songs in it came on, and I almost crashed with excitement, forgetting that it was out & that it was placed so high was a really rewarding feeling.

What was your reaction like when you learned that you charted on Spotify’s Viral 50 playlist?

A similar reaction of being excited it seemed to be connecting, but also had more nerdy questions about the algorithm & what makes a song viral?? We’ll never know ha.

What do you hope to gain out of this huge accomplishment?

That more people will continue to tune to what I’m doing, and I’ll get to play their cities soon!

How have the fans been reacting to the new song?

It’s been really cool seeing people use this song more as a carefree anthem, and the light hearted responses I’ve gotten from it, i.e. silly instagram story posts, fun covers, etc..

How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?

I want to connect with them on a personal level with my songs, and hopefully grow with them as I continue to release music & tour.

What was the craziest fan encounter you have had?

Hmm there’s been some really cool ones, like people coming up to me in an airport, or getting lyrics tattooed or really creepy times when I was stalked & followed based off a tweet ha.

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?

Instagram is my jam!

How has this whole music career experience been?

It’s been a crazy ride, some extreme highs and some lows as well. I wouldn’t trade it for anything though and feel grateful to be able to call this my job.

What would you say has been your biggest accomplishment in your career so far?

No clue ha, I feel like I’m still on the upswing! Writing with some of my favorite artists has been dope, and being able to do this for a living is really rewarding.

Do you have any last things you want to tell your supporters?

Thanks for being along this ride, and having me be apart of their life in some small way.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this interview with us.

Of course, I appreciate it!
