Hey CC! So excited to be chatting with you! Can you tell us what you’ve been up to these past few months?

In the past few months I’ve been writing new music and planning releases for this year. I have been documenting everything on my youtube channel where I post vlogs about my life as a singer-songwriter every Tuesday and Friday and I also post daily updates on my Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

Your new single “I Can’t Kiss Boys At Parties” is so catchy and relatable!!! How excited were you to release this song?!?

Thank you! I was very excited to release “I Can’t Kiss Boys at Parties”. I havn’t released new music since August when I released my 16 song album called “Almost” so it felt good to put something new out to show how I’m developing as a writer and an artist.

What’s been your reaction to all the success the song has been having?

It’s been really great! The song hasn’t even been out for a week yet and I’m already getting a great response! I’m very happy that people like the song and I’m super excited to see what will happen next.

Can you tell us the backstory of this song? Is it from a real experience?

“I Can’t Kiss Boys at Parties” is loosely based on my life and what I’ve seen some of my friends go through. I’m a senior in high school and many relationships break up during the transition into college. In the past four years I’ve seen the senior classes leave and couples split up. The song is about feeling lonely even in a crowded room. It’s like you finally decide to move on after a break up and there are all these people to choose from, but it doesn’t matter because none of them are the one you want. I’m always writing and telling stories about the experiences I have. The first part of this song I wrote down was actually the title “I Can’t Kiss Boys at Parties”. Before I had even written any other part of the song, I knew that it had to be the title. I just thought it was an interesting way of saying “I’m not over you”.

You also have more music coming out in 2019!! Can you spill any details on what your supporters can look forward to the rest of the year?!?

Yes! I plan to release new music every 60 days this year so there is definitely more to look forward to. I’m super excited and we are actually picking out the second single right now. One song that will be coming out soon is called “Something Else” and I played a short acoustic version of it on The Q on Fox 29 (local Philadelphia News Show) last week.

Do you have a creative say in your music? Did you help write all your new songs?

I’m an independent artist so I release my songs myself which gives me a lot of creative freedom. I write all the lyrics to my songs myself and then I go into the studio and record with my producer Andy Seltzer. I tell him how I’d like the song to sound and he always does an amazing job!

We are so excited to be releasing the music video for your new single!! Can you tell us about the concept of the video?

The video is a music/lyric hybrid video. There are neon lights, shadows, and people in the background as if I am at a party, but the main focus of the video is the lyrics because as a writer that’s what I really wanted to show the most.

How excited are you for your supporters to see the video?

I’m super excited for everyone to see the video! I think it really captures the feeling and vibe of the song and I hope they think so as well!

Any fun moments while on set?

The lighting is kind of dark, but if you look closely you can see me pretending my hand is a phone when I sing the line “If you wanted you would’ve called already”. It cuts to the next shot right after, but you can see me start to laugh because I thought it was stupid. We decided to put it in the video anyway. I have a behind the scenes video on my youtube channel with a lot of fun moments to check out as well!

Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?

Absolutely. My family has helped me so much along the way.  My dad has been taking me to countless lessons, performances, open mic nights, and studios ever since I was six years old. My family has always believed in me and supported me. I also want to thank my vocal, piano, and guitar coaches Sal Dupree, Kit Worton, Ajodah Seenarine, Jackson Howard, and Reed Bodenstein. For this project in particular, I would like to thank my producer, Andy Seltzer, for the amazing work he did on the song and also my team who helped me put the release together, Ann Carli, Ron Kyle, and Maya Carbo.

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

That I’m super happy they came out to see me 🙂 I’m so grateful that people actually take the time out of their day to come support me and listen to my music. It means the world to me!

Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?

Yes I would totally love to meet Taylor Swift again. I was chosen out of the audience to meet her at her 1989 concert and I actually wrote a song about that night called “Sixty Thousand Dreams” which is the 13th track on my most recent album called “Almost”. I would love for her to hear the song and to thank her for inspiring me to be a songwriter.

Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourself?

I think social media is important because it gives you a direct connection to your fans. You can talk to them and interact which is super cool. Artists and fans definitely have a special bond and social media platforms strengthen that bond. Social media is also really useful because it gets your message out to the world so new people can discover and connect with you.

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

I love telling stories that touch people, making music, and performing. My biggest dream is to be able to do what I love as a living and that people will be interested in that and want to support me.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

On my youtube channel I post tons of behind the scenes footage in the recording studio, at performances, and projects I am working on. I also share the stories behind my songs!

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview!!

Happy to! Thank you as well!
