Hey Capri!! So excited to be chatting with you!! Now that it is officially fall!! How was your summer?
I had a really great summer! I was able to go to Europe to sing at a big tournament which was an amazing experience.
You just released your new single “Butterflies”!! How excited are you to finally get this new single out into the world?
I am really, really excited for this release! I recorded the song back in the spring so it is very exciting to be able to finally release it!

What does this song mean to you?
Butterflies is my favourite song that I have done so far. I personally love singing and listening to a lot of ballads, so to be able to record one was very exciting for me. The concept of Butterflies is about the feeling you get in your stomach when you get nervous and that could be about anything from singing on stage to being nervous around a guy. The song talks about how getting butterflies can be annoying however, I wouldn’t change it because it just means I care.
Will there be a music video for “Butterflies”?
Right now, I am doing a music video for another song that I just released called “Girl Stand Up”, which is a more upbeat dance song, so I don’t have plans at the moment to do a music video but maybe I will at some point!
What inspired you to pursue music?
So my music story is a little cheesy but I started singing and piano when I was 5 years old and I really really loved it so I continued it until I was 12. When I was 13, I decided to take a bit of a break from music because I had started to become less passionate about it. Then, I went to see a Shawn Mendes concert and I realized how much I missed the feeling you get when you’re onstage and singing and I decided to go back.
How would you describe your musical style?
I love pop music and have always idolized pop stars like Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and many more like them. I would say I am still trying to develop my own style as an artist but I will definitely stay pop.
How would you describe yourself in 5 words?
Class Clown, overachiever, slow sometimes:), passionate and honest.
What artists do you look up to right now?
I really love Alessia Cara’s music and after seeing her open for Shawn Mendes, I started to learn more of her songs to do covers of. Ariana Grande is another favourite of mine because of her amazing range and style.
You received international acclaim and world-wide media attention when you travelled to 80 countries and sang the national anthem of each country in the national language to raise money for vulnerable children! You named your journey “Around the World in 80 Anthems”! What was this amazing experience like for you?
The experience of being able to travel to so many different and unique places was so amazing and I got to meet so many incredible people around the world. It really opened my eyes to how so much of the world lives. When I came back to Canada, I really appreciated the little things like being able to drink water from the tap (which you can’t do in so many parts of the world).
You gained a lot of attention and followers from “Around the World In 80 Anthems! Why do you think social media is so important for teen artists today?
I think that the era of social media has made it so much easier for younger people like me to have more power and to get attention and raise awareness for different reasons. It gives teen artists a chance to have their music be heard and to showcase their style through pictures.
With a massive following already your supporters must have a name for themselves. Does your fan base have a name?
My fan base does not have a name yet however if they did they would be called the FOR Ever-itts.
How do you want your relationship to be like with your supporters?
I want to always be so thankful to all my supporters for following me and downloading all of my music. I never would have thought that people would want to make fan pages for me and I am so so grateful.
What’s the feeling you get when meeting your supporters?
I am so humbled by the support I get and I love meeting about my supporters and learning things about them.
What type of music are you leaning towards for your music career?
I am definitely leaning towards pop and pop ballads like butterflies, however, I did just start listening and doing covers of country music so maybe I’ll incorporate that into some of my music:)
Any other fun things in the works you can tell us about?
I am super excited to be releasing my music video for Girl Stand Up on October 23rd. I’m also gonna be singing at a Toronto Raptors game in New Orleans this coming November.
What’s an average day for you look like right now?
I’m in grade 10 right now and I’m in school. So most days, I will go to school and then to piano, guitar or singing depending on what day it is. I try to record a new cover song every week so throughout the week I will practice that as well.
Any last things you want to tell your supporters?
Just that I am so grateful to them for following me and taking the time to listen to my music!
