Hey Ameliarose!! You started your music career at a very young age, what inspired you to pursue music?
I’ve always been interested in music. I come from a very musical family, and just grew up listening to amazing music such as Sufjan Stevens and Renaissance. I decided I wanted to sing and write music as a career when I was probably around 12 years old. I’ve just never loved anything as much as I love music.
You made it on the current season of American Idol! CONGRATS!! What made you to decide to try out for American Idol?
I actually kind of auditioned for fun! I had no idea I would make it as far as I did. I honestly wasn’t even sure I would make it past the judges round. But I’m so glad I was able to make it through the rounds at Hollywood Week as well!
How has this experience been for you so far?
American Idol taught me so much about myself, and what I needed to improve upon as an artist. It was an incredible learning experience.
What was it like auditioning for these amazing judges?
I was super nervous! But I pushed through and I am so grateful that they gave me three “yesses”!
How would you describe your musical style?
I consider music to be kind of pop-alternative. Kind of like a mix of Kimbra, St. Vincent, Billie Eilish, and Lorde.
What artists do you look up to right now?
I recently began listening to Jeff Buckley – he was just an all around amazing singer and songwriter. I wish I could’ve been alive while he was. I aspire to be even just a little bit as amazing at songwriting as he was.
Can we expect any new music soon?
Yes! Very soon. I’ve been writing and recording so much music and I am beyond excited to share it with everyone! Hopefully things will be coming out in about a month or so! Keep your eyes peeled!

Are there any other projects in the works you can tell us about?
I’ll be performing at a big event for the TV show “Wonderama” and will also doing some TV correspondent work for them. I am also an actor and recently signed with Andreadis Talent Agency in NYC. I am hoping to do more TV & film
What does it feel like to perform your own music live in front of your fans?
It’s amazing! When I see people singing along or mouthing the words to my songs it makes me so happy.
Does your fanbase have a name yet?
It does not! But I’m not opposed to any names, if anyone has any ideas!
How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?
I want them to connect with my music and relate to my songs. I want them to feel safe while listening to my music, and for them to know that they’re not alone.
What was the craziest fan encounter you have had?
I played this show at a big stadium in NY in front of 2000 kids last year, and during the meet & greet, one fan asked for me to sign their phone! With a sharpie permanent marker! It was crazy!
What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?
I use Instagram mainly (@whoisameliarose) but I also use twitter too (@redglassesgal) and I am also on Facebook as Ameliarose Allen!
What goals have you set out for yourself in your career and in your personal life?
My goal in life is to use my voice to my advantage. Hopefully someday when I have a big enough following, I can help make some positive changes in the world and be a voice for others.
How has this whole music career experience been?
I honestly couldn’t imagine doing anything else with my life. Even through the ups and downs, when I’m singing my songs, I feel like there could be one person in the room, or one thousand people in the room and I would still feel the connection I have with music.
