What inspired you to start your music career?
My music actually stemmed from my dance background. I’ve been a dancer since I was about 3 years old and from there I became involved with singing. Dance is my way of conveying my thoughts and feelings. My music is an extension of that. I started making music as young as 7 years old. I got really serious about my writing as I got older. I released my first original single in 2016 and have been growing and putting out more music ever since.
Did you have a break out song that started things for you?
I will forever be grateful to my first ever single, my little baby, “Sugarcoated”. The first single is never the best, but it always sticks with you as the most special. However I would say my breakout song would have to have been “Boom”. This song was a collaboration with the amazing Cindy Valentine and Grammy Winning Producer, the Jackie Boyz. This was a fun one! We got exposure on the billboard charts, we created my first music video and it really was the experience of a lifetime.
We are so excited to be premiering your new single “Summer On Lock”. How did the idea for this song come about?
This song came about as a collaboration with award winning Grammy writers/producers Damon Elliot, Mix, Niko the Kid and Cindy Valentine. Now this one was SO FUN! We all got together and instantly started vibin’. We all clicked right away. I instantly fell in love with the track and from there we all threw in our own melody and lyrics.

Can you tell us the meaning behind the name “Summer On Lock”?
“Summer On Lock” is an energetic, upbeat summertime song. The track is infectious, the melody is catchy, and I don’t know about you guys but I can’t help but groove out to it! This song has a lot of confidence and edginess to it. The title really shows that. Like ‘I got the summer, and I got it locked down”. It’s a fun play on words but it fits this track perfectly.
Is there going to be a music video for your new song? If so can you spill any details about the video?
Yes there is in fact a visual for this new single and I am very excited for people to see it! I don’t want to give too much away but this one is definitely high energy and my dancers and I get down and dirtyyyyy…So stay tuned for that!
Any fun moments while creating the song?
Definitely! Like I said, this song is full of so much sass and energy, how could you not have fun?! And again, writing in groups gives the song a whole new life and vibe. The Music video shoot was also an unforgettable experience!
What’s the process of writing one of your songs?
The process depends on whether it’s a group piece or a solo project. Working in groups is always a great way to work on a record. If you’re stuck on how to make something better, another person on the team may think of an idea that you love and would never have even thought of. It was very collaborative, which is always a fun way to work on a project. Writing solo is another thing altogether. I’m definitely that person who carries a writing book wherever I go. Everything I’ve ever felt or thought or seen, I’ve written down. The songs that you write privately definitely have a different, more personal side to them.
Do you have a creative say in your music and music videos?
I sure do! I’m very passionate about my songwriting and I have an incredible team brought to me by The Star Groomer, all of whom bring new and innovative ideas to my music and visuals. However I especially love being a part of the creative side when it comes to the visual. This is a chance to create a story, a mood, and a vibe. Listening to a song is one thing, but watching it being played out in front of you like a movie is a completely different situation and it’s one of my favorite parts of the industry I’m in.
Any other fun things in the works you can tell us about?
Yes! As well as this new single release, we have a lot more music coming your way throughout the year! I am also currently half way through my “Summer On Lock” Tour. What’s it like sharing your time in Los Angeles and Sydney?
It’s a lot of fun! It’s almost like I have two homes. I’m in LA to work hard and reach my goals and Australia is where my whole family is. They’re completely different but that’s the best part!
