Hey Alison! So excited to be chatting with you! You just released your new single! How excited are you that this song is finally out into the world?

Thank you! We actually wrote this song a few years ago and I’ve always wanted it to be heard. So I’m really happy that it finally has its time!

What do you hope your supporters will think of the new song?

I really always hope people can relate to my music and hear a little of their story or a friends story in mine. I love the music on this one too and I hope beyond the story they love the classic country feel it has.

Can you tell us the backstory of this song? Is it from a real experience?

This song came from a relationship I went through that I just felt like I was chasing. It had been ending for a while and I just kept holding onto the little pieces I could get from it. Finally I realized that I was the reason I was hurting because I kept going back knowing he wasn’t in it anymore. I was hanging out with my co-writer and close friend, Delaney Grant, and said how I was breaking my own heart at this point and the song kind of just rolled out.

You also have more music coming out in soon!! Can you spill any details on what your supporters can look forward to from you this year?!?

This year I really want to just keep putting out music I love and feel and have fun with! I loved the music I put out last year. “Used to” and “Jean Jacket” are honestly some of my favorites to date and so I really want to keep the fun rolling this spring and summer too!

Do you have a creative say in your music? Did you help write all your new songs?

Yes! I’m a writer on everything I have out and am releasing! I’ve never been opposed to just singing a song if it’s something I really related to. But I think, for me, being a part of the song from creation I just have a better connection with it and those are the songs I want to release.

What’s it feel like to be releasing your own original music?

Releasing music is really amazing and terrifying all at once. I love showing people what I have to say and telling stories but you also are signing up to be judged on your feelings which can be scary! Sometimes you’re pretty much publishing your diary!

Where did your love of music come from?

I’ve been singing since I was three and honestly just can’t picture not signing or not finding a way to sing. I have no idea how but for as long as I can remember I’ve just loved the feeling of singing. My parents loved music which was always helpful because it was always on! I started really listening to lyrics young and I just loved relating to a song and a story and feeling what someone was going through.

Will there be a music video for your new single? If so, can you tell us about the concept of the video?

That is still up in the air actually!

What’s been the pros and cons of pursuing your music career?

I think there is struggle in all entertainment. It’s definitely hard to keep going sometimes and it’s easy to judge yourself too hard. But, I get to do what I love and I’m so thankful for that. I think people rarely get to turn their life passion project into a career!

Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?

My family and friends deserve the biggest thank you. It is really important to have people that love you and support you and make you keep going when you hit the rough patches. Mine have seriously been behind me since I was 5 years old and started performing. Some people aren’t that lucky!

What do you think makes your fan community/fandom different from others?

I love that my fans are so diverse. I love that there are little girls and moms and grandmas that love my music and that’s really really how I want to stay!

How would you describe your fans? – what’s three words you would use to describe your fans?

Supportive, loving, fun!

What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?

I really want people to love my music, relate to it and want to be my friend, ha! I love people and I like want to have conversations with every person I see at a show and hear about what they liked.

Are you planning any IG Live shows to promote your new music?

I have a few in person shows coming up that I’m excited for! But I’d love to put together an IG live too!

What is it like performing in front of your fans? Are you excited to start performing your own music live!?!

I love performing and being on stage, I really always have! I love meeting people and getting to show my music to them. I’m so happy to be back on stage after a crazy last year and it feels great to start seeing people again!

What do you want your supporters to know that you think is important?

I think it’s important that people know I’m real and that I really care about what they think and feel towards music. I try to consistently work from the heart and I hope that shows.

What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

I think people think I’m more serious than I am! But truthfully I love to laugh and I’m sarcastic 90% of the time.

What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?

I don’t think I can put it into one word. My first EP was crowd funded and was such a great start for me. I’m so grateful for their support and love.

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

If people see me I want them to ALWAYS come say hi! I never turn away talking to someone!

Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?

I would love to sit down with Carrie Underwood- her career is a huge inspiration!

What’s your current go-to song?

I am loving Miranda Lamberts “In His Arms” and I’ve have Carly Pearces recent EP on repeat!

Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourself?

I think socials are letting us meet people we normally wouldn’t! Especially this past year not being able to play as much as we’d like. I also love that people can keep up with their favorite artists not only at shows.

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

I have a few venues I want to play this year, some in Nashville some other places. I try to make year goals and keep moving forward. Those shows are at the top of my list!

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

THANK YOU! And stick around 🙂
