Hey Denis!! So excited to be chatting with you!! Now that it’s officially fall!! How was your summer?
Hey! Thanks so much for having me! My summer was great, I got some time to relax and had a great time touring and doing festivals as well!
You just announced that you will be joining New Hope Club on their Autumn tour which is really exciting news. What have you been doing to prepare for your shows coming up?
Thanks! I had rehearsals leading up to the shows, and I’ve been exercising and staying off dairy to increase stamina and help my vocals.
Any surprises you can spill about the show?
There’s a new addition to my set! I’m now performing with a madly talented musician called Gabi, who plays drum samples, keyboards and guitar in the show. I’ve also got a new cover: Antisocial by Travis Scott and Ed Sheeran.
You will also have CBBC’s YouTube coming to vlog you during your tour dates with New Hope Club, which will be a show on the CBBC Channel! How excited are you for this awesome opportunity?
I’m so excited! I used to watch CBBC when I was younger, so to now be on that channel is amazing!!!
What are you most excited about for tour?
Everything! Haha. I love the rush of being on stage, and meeting all of the fans afterwards. I also love seeing the world, and spending time with my tour family.
What’s your favorite thing about being on the road?
I love being able to learn about all the different cities, people and cultures I come into contact with on the road. Earlier this year I did a European tour and it was so cool to see and meet everyone in each city!
What song are you most excited to perform?/ What’s your favorite song to perform live?
My favourite is definitely my new single All I Wanna Know. It’s lit when that song comes on! At the first show of the New Hope Club Tour in Dublin, people went crazy – and knew all the words – which was insane, because it had just come out the day before. It was lit.
What does it feel like to perform your own music live in front of your supporters?
It’s the best feeling in the world. Having my song sung back to me in Dublin last Saturday was one of the most surreal moments of my life.
You also toured with The Vamps this year along with HRVY and New Hope Club! What was it like touring with them?
It was incredible. I had seen all three of them play the O2 arena the year before, and that was what really inspired to become a singer, and then to play the O2 with them just a year later was incredible! Everyone on that tour was so supportive and inspirational, and it was one the greatest months of my life.
You just released your new single, “All I Wanna Know” – a tune to perfectly end the summer with! How did this song come about?
Thanks!! I wrote the song a few months earlier. It was my first session with these massive producers called Red Triangle and I was so nervous. These guys had produced tracks for Charlie Puth, Little Mix, One Direction and loads more of my favourite pop artists and to be writing with them myself was mad! We sat down, they had a little loop going and I started coming up with some melodies and lyrics and the song began to take form. After a few tweaks, it became All I Wanna Know, and we sent it out.
What has been your reaction to all the success of the new single?
I’ve been blown away! By far it’s been the best reaction to any of my singles up to date and I’m so grateful for all the support! Between Spotify putting it on their massive Pop Right Now playlist, and all of my supporters streaming it thousands of times in the first 24 hours of its release I feel really blessed and honoured!
Are there any other projects in the works you can tell us about?
Well…if I told you I’d have to kill you…just kidding. I’m doing a headline tour with Live Nation this December and I’ve got my next single lined up and ready to go so stay tuned! And then I’m heading out with Why Don’t We on their UK tour which I’m so excited for!
Do you have any last things you want to tell your supporters?
Thanks to everyone who has supported me up until now! My life has been crazy thanks to you guys and I’ve been able to fulfil some of my wildest dreams! Thank you so much!
