How did you guys become a band?

Me and Ben had few songs we had written in a similar vein so we decided to start up the project for a bit of fun.

How did you guys come up with the band name Barbudo & whats the meaning of the name?

Ben came up with it. It means bearded person in Spanish. Ben has a beard…

Can you tell us a little something about each of you?

Harry is also a wedding singer. Ben has a 5 piece beret collection. And Elliot looks great in Autumnal colours.

What is it like being in a band? And Whats the difference from going from being solo artists to becoming a band?

None of us have gone solo yet so wouldn’t really know what thats like. I guess being in a band is isolating as you don’t have to do it all alone.

How would you describe your musical style as a band?

Nu-eyed Funk and Soul baby.

What artists/bands are you influenced by?

Isley Brothers, Jamiroquai, P-Funk, Isaac Hayes amongst many others.

Whats the difference from your band and all bands that have come before you?

We come from Havant, a town with the largest sized tesco-population ratio in the UK.

You guys recently released your new single, “Secret Admirer”. Can you tell us how this song came about and the meaning of the song?

It started off with just the guitar riff and was built around that. The song is a tongue in cheek confession about having guilty pleasures that you might not admit to liking publicly but indulge in privately.

Do you guys have a creative say in your music and videos?

We write all the tunes so yeah. It the same for the videos. We usually get a friend to direct it who is happy for us to pitch in ideas.

What do you hope to gain out of your music careers?

Loads of moneyyyyy of course. And inner peace. Either of those would be great…

Are you guys planning on touring or doing any shows anytime soon?

We have a show at The Shacklewell Arms 4th July plus some other shows that haven’t been announced yet.

Whats the feeling you guys get when performing in front of your fans?

Its always great to see the crowd’s reaction to playing your songs live. Especially if you can get a boogie going.

Does your fanbase have a name?

Not that I’m aware of. But we are open to suggestions.

How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?

As open as possible really. Cant make music without them!

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?

Usually the Zuckerbook.

What was the craziest fan encounter you guys have had?

Not really had any crazy fans yet sadly.

Will there be an ep/album out soon?

We are currently recording an EP for our vinyl release which we be at the begging of next year. But we will release some singles between now and then too.

What’s an average day for “Barbudo” look like?

Get up. Write some music. Record some music. Got to bed.

What goals have you guys set out for the band?

To keep releasing new music and to grow our fanbase so we can quit our day jobs.

Where do you guys hope the band is in 5 years?

Headlining Glastonbury would be pretty nice.

Do you guys have any last things you want to tell your supporters?

Thanks for all your support so far! Stay tuned for new bangers coming your way.
