Hey Greta! So excited to be chatting with you!! How excited are you that your new single is finally out into the world?
I’m so excited, releasing music always comes with so many emotions but seeing how people react is the best.
Where did the inspiration for the song come from?
I remember writing it quiet quickly, I think the inspiration behind it was just a situation where I didn’t really feel the need to blame someone else for a relationship not working out, I wanted to try and write more about my realisations rather than someone else shortcomings.
Any fun moments while creating/recording the song?
I wrote and recorded this one at home in my studio set-up, generally I find the earlier stages of recording a song the most exciting because it’s when I feel most creative and connected to a track. At the end of the production process I added some extra fx sounds that I found really entertaining. There’s a loop in the pre-chorus that I made out of a sound of someone spinning the lid of a container, it added a nice texture.
What do you hope your supporters will think of the new song?
As longs as they feel something, I’m happy. It’s one of the more personal songs I’ve released so I hope it can resonate in some way.
What’s the process of writing one of your songs?
It really differs every time, sometimes I start with a title and write around that idea and other times I’ll start mumbling and eventually singing over some chords and I’ll work with what comes out. When I get an interesting idea, I usually try to work quite quickly because I don’t like to give myself too much time to overthink what I’m writing.
Where did your love of music come from?
I’m not too sure really, I think I’ve always just naturally gravitated towards it and have always been obsessed with how music can impact the way you feel. I started playing guitar when I was about 6 or 7 and I think my love for music just grew the more I played.
Will there be a music video for your new single?
It depends how badly people want one…
Any other fun projects in the works you can tell us about?
I have more music coming soon, I like releasing as often as possible.
