Just in time for the holidays, country music artist Russell Dickerson is giving back and spreading cheer to a fan who has been spreading positivity and hope no matter the circumstances. Sarah Frei is a 17-year-old girl from Syracuse, Utah, whose life was changed this summer by a car accident when she was hit head-on by a drunk driver. Sarah became paralyzed from the waist down and had to lose both of her legs. Despite this horrible and life-changing incident, Sarah has kept a positive attitude and been an inspiration to everyone around her.
While in the hospital, her school’s cheerleading squad created a dance routine to Sarah’s favorite song “Home Sweet” performed by Russell Dickerson. The video caught the attention of Russell, who then teamed up with Chevy to surprise Sarah Frei with a 2021 Chevy Traverse that has been outfitted for her specific needs.

Earlier this week, Russell surprised Sarah with the news of her own custom fit car during a video call that can be seen below. BraunAbility, a manufacturing company that specializes in wheelchair accessible vehicles and lifts, customized a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse with Sarah’s needs in mind – including a fully-powered and lighted ramp, maximized cabin space, and more.
“A story like Sarah’s needs to be shared and celebrated,” Russell shared on Instagram. Check out the emotional video below!
