So excited to be chatting with you. You’ve been busy with music recently. Can you tell us what you’ve been up to over the past few months?
Thank you so much for having me! These past few months have been so exciting because they all have been revolving around music! Lots of writing, collaborating with amazing producers, vision boards, photo shoots, video ideas and live performances!
You just released your new single “Read My Hips!” Can you tell us the meaning behind the song?
“Read My Hips” is about the magic in body language. How sometimes you can say all you need to say to someone with the way you move your body. It’s a fun and flirty song to dance to 🙂
How did the idea for this song come about?
I was actually really inspired by the Shawn Mendes song ‘Where Were You in the Morning.’ I was listening to that song non stop and one day I was walking my dog and the melody of “Read My Hips” just popped into my head! The lyric “Read My Hips” was the first lyric I wrote and I just loved the idea of a song about moving your hips as a way of flirting.
What’s the process of writing one of your songs?
Usually it starts with a spark of inspiration, whether it’s a melody, a title or a concept I want to write about. But, my next single for example, was taken right from a life experience. I had just spent some time with a guy I had a crush on and on the drive home I started writing because the emotion was just spilling out of me!
Are you excited to start performing your new single live?
Yes! I can’t wait to bring it to life in front of an audience.
What’s the feeling you get when you are performing live?
The only way I could describe it is like flying. Like somehow my voice gives me wings and the music is the wind taking me higher and leading me where to go.
Why do you think social media is so important for artists today?
I think the most important part of social media for artists today is the unique opportunity we get to really get to know our fans. To see what they look like, what they wear, what they do and how they interact. It’s cool because it’s a two way street and as much as I get to get to know the people that like my music, they get to know me too.
Do you have any last things to tell your supporters?
I just want to say thank you to everyone who has listened to my debut single. This is just the beginning and I’m so lucky to have people supporting me so early on. Can’t wait for everyone to go on this journey with me 🙂 and thank you to Teen Music Insider for this interview and giving me a platform to share my song!
