Hey Alexa! So excited to be chatting with you! Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Thank you so much for having me! My name is Alexa Kishner and I am a pop singer/songwriter. I have been singing since I was three years old and have been writing music since the age of 10. Now 21, I have taken every minute to continue honing in on the craft of songwriting, falling more in love with the art every single day.
Where did your love of music come from?
Music has been a constant in my life since a young age. I have always turned to music to understand life’s peaks and valleys. Music and songwriting have always provided me with a sense of comfort, and I hope my music can do the same for others. Music enables me to connect with individuals on a deeper and more meaningful level and I am forever appreciative for the interaction I am able to achieve with my audience. When people come up to me after shows or message me saying they were inspired by my music — that’s when it all comes together for me. I can’t put that feeling into words. I have grown up with such a great passion for writing and music and I am so grateful to be able to create music every single day.
What artists do you look up to right now?
Taylor Swift has always been a main inspiration in my life as a person and as an artist/singer/songwriter. I have always admired her lyrics, melodies and artistry. I can vividly remember listening to Taylor Swift back in 2008, dreaming that one day I’d be able to share my stories as beautifully as she has and continues to do today. I also admire many artists that I listen to and even work with today.
You just released your new single “Just You and Me”! How excited were you to get this project out into the world?!?
I am so beyond excited that “Just You and Me” is out! Writing this song back in October of 2019 was magical. I knew instantly after finishing this song that it was a story that needed to be told and I am so excited with how it has turned out. The response I received is truly astounding and I am so grateful for everyone that has listened.
Can you tell us what this song means to you?
“Just You and Me” holds a special place in my heart. I actually wrote the chorus to “Just You and Me” to the beat of the turn signal in my car. As a songwriter, I have always wanted to share my stories as a way for me to understand them and a way for others to relate to them and recognize that they are never alone in what they feel.
What do you hope your supporters will think of the new song?
From this new song, I hope supporters will listen and know that their experiences and feelings are always valid. I hope listeners hear the words, love the melodies, sing along, and, ultimately, enjoy the song.
Any fun moments while creating the song?
So many fun moments! From writing this song to working on production, the whole experience was absolutely amazing. One of my favorite moments from this process was in production during the first listen back to the song as a whole. I was extremely happy with how it was turning out and so excited to release the song!

What do you hope your supporters will think from hearing your new music?
I hope that anyone that listens to my music knows and understands that they are never alone. I always strive to be real and authentic in my writing and I hope that listeners hear that. Music is so special and important to me and I am grateful every day that I am able to create music and release it for the world to hear. Ultimately, I want to aid others in understanding that they are never alone and can face any obstacle that may come their way. I hope that my music can do that, even if in a small way.

I will never be able to put into words how grateful I am for my supporters and listeners. Music has always been a tremendous part of my life and I am thankful to be able to share my stories and have individuals listen, relate and connect with the music.
