Can you start off by telling our readers a little bit about yourself?

I’m a California girl, born and raised. I just turned 21. Music has been a huge part of my life having grown up in a really musical family, but it wasn’t until college that I decided I wanted to pursue it professionally. I have a very eclectic music taste – my Spotify playlists are a mess because I like so many different things and I want them all at once. I think my own style reflects that passion for music in that I make music that I like, but also has something to say.

How did your debut single “Cruel” get created?

My producer sent me the demo for “Cruel” and I instantly fell in love with it, the second I heard the chorus. I thought it was such a strong message but had a really uplifting melody. I wanted something more dynamic than your typical angry song about a boy. Cruel was that song for me, and it’s a message that I think a lot of people can relate to. People have experience with bad relationships, but the song talks about not repeating that past in your next relationship, and the idea of stopping that cycle is really powerful.

Your second single, “I Don’t Want To Catch My Breath” has been gaining some traction on major Country radio stations around the U.S. as well as the Billboard Charts. How has the success of this single been for you?

This song was a definite passion for me. It was written by Hillary Lindsey who is a personal idol of mine. Recording one of her songs was on my music bucket list and I feel so lucky to have done TWO on this EP. It is a really emotional song with a beautiful message and I think that emotion came through really well. It’s surreal that my music is playing all over the country, let alone on major FM stations. Quite honestly I still am so surprised when people DM me and repost my photos. My little EP has reached people like I could never have imagined. Blessed!!

What would you say has been your biggest accomplishment in your career so far?

When I found out I was charting on Billboard. That was incredible.

Why is music so important in your life?

Being an artist is important because it gives me a voice and a way of expressing myself. I love music because I think it connects with people in a more intimate and direct way than many other art forms. I also love the fact that there is so much diversity in music, so many different perspectives being shared through various genres.

What message do you want to send your supporters through your music?

My main goal as an artist is to be as relatable as possible. The best songs are the ones that people feel instantly connected to, and I think that level of connection comes from drawing on real life experience and voicing those stories in an open, vulnerable way.

What’s most important in your life right now?

To continue evolving as an artist and writing my own material. I’m so excited for what’s ahead!
