Can you tell us how your new single “Wedding Dress” came about?
I was legit at a wedding and I came up with the idea of the song white watching my friends get married. I remember running to the bathroom after the ceremony to sing the idea for the melody I had into my voice memos. The song really isn’t about the dress as much as it is the idea of wanting to spend forever with someone.
Any fun moments while creating the song?
It was fun writing the song with my co-writers, Trannie and Forrest, because I had the first verse and the idea for the chorus, and they just made it so much better. I remember just looking at them and saying, “This is really good, isn’t it?” Haha.
What has it been like having your new single on Radio Disney?
It’s great! They are such an amazing platform for up-and-coming artists and such a fantastic champion of new music.
Are you making a music video for “Wedding Dress”?
We made a cool little lyric video with my fans and asked each to send in videos of them or loved ones in wedding dresses, and it turned out to be so cool.
Will there be an EP/Album out soon?
TBD! Definitely more music very soon.
Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?
My Dad, Marcus Hummon, taught me everything I know about songwriting. How to operate in a writing room, how important co-writing is, and the value of a hit song.
What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?
They’ve helped me trust myself, the music, and the process.
Are there any other fun projects in the works you can tell us about?
Unfortunately, because of the coronavirus we’ve had to rethink a lot of things. But, I’ve used it as a time to create and write. Actually, the best part has been going through old music and rediscovering some treasures.
Do you have any last things you want to tell your supporters?
I’m just so grateful to take you on this journey with me! Can’t wait until quarantine is over and I can see you on the road.
