Hey Jameir! So excited to be chatting with you! What’s been your reaction to all the success you’ve gotten recently?
It’s been a lot to take in but i’m happy even when sometimes it feels like I’m under a microscope I’m grateful and I think about it every morning that like wow I’m really doing this.
Do you have a creative say in your music?
Yeah, I have complete control over all of my music that’s such a key thing for me to have when creating because my mind and style fluctuates a lot and I wanna showcase whatever mentality I’m in at that given moment I feel it just adds that raw natured feeling to all my music.
What’s it feel like to be releasing your own music?
It feels great honestly because when I first started writing i wouldn’t go on to release music until 3 years later so when I finally got the point of actually releasing music it was a feeling like no other and I’ve been so grateful i could release my own music because it’s all I can ever seen myself doing.
Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?
Yeah I have a couple people I would really like to thank first I wanna say thank you to my best friends Haley aka (RipHaleyEdits) and Andrew they’ve always been their for me every step of my career and I wanted to say thanks to all those who have contributed financially to my career and to those who just told me to go for it. Honestly anyone who helped me get here and my fans are a big reason why I’m here today
What do you think makes your fan community/fandom different from others?
My fans really rally together like a community when I’m in need, they believe in the vision so were like family because were all able to relate and find comfort in not being so alone in this world, I think my fanbase really shines when it come’s to unity were like a cult determined to run the world.
How would you describe your fans? – what’s three words you would use to describe your fans?
I think I would use Passionate, Admirable and Determined.
Do you have any other projects in the works you can tell us about?
Yes, I have two currently one will most likely just be a Soundcloud Ep due to samples I probably won’t be able to get cleared and the other will be something I can release everywhere I don’t wanna say names of them because it all may change nothing is set in stone just yet.
What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?
Everything, because without them I don’t think I would be in the position I’m in right now so I say everything.
With an already massive fanbase your fans must they have a name for themselves. What do your fans call themselves? And How did that fanbase name catch on?
yeah of course my fanbase is called the 16 and my fans are called the 16’s because I feel like me and that number and I are bound together it’s affirms my beliefs and is like my guardian angel and it came about because the number always surrounds me. I was born January 16th, 2000 at 8:16am and whenever I’m questioning myself for an answer that number usually appears. It doesn’t matter where a license plate, billboard etc it’ll appear and then I’ll know how to proceed.
Many of your supporters are starstruck when they meet you Have you ever been starstruck?
I’m always starstruck when people know who I am I think it’s so crazy because like wow they listen to the music I create I’m always happy and honored trying to take it all in. It just makes me see the bigger picture of what I’m doing for those who find solidarity in my music my experiences and pain my happiness and everything else.
What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?
Please, don’t just run up on me trying to hug me haha, I love all of my fans and supporters but as an artist that’s a scary thing especially if I never seen or met you, music artist have to be on guard because their are plenty of people who don’t wanna see you winning and you never know someones intent so just treat me like a human with respect that’s all I ask because we all have our ups and downs so just respect that and I love all my supporters.
Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?
Yeah, I really wanna meet Kanye west and have a conversation with him and pick his brain when it comes to music, creativity and fashion.
I hate social media but it’s important for artist because it sometimes gives fans a way to feel closer to us outside of the music and a way for us to update fans on what’s going on but honestly social can be helpful until of really expressing things or giving out important information.
What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?
My goal right now is to become really consistent in releasing music for 2020 and hopefully by the end of next year I can find a true partnership amongst some of these major labels like Republic records, universal or warner music group.
Any last things you want to tell your supporters?
It’s only up from here, keep sharing the music and supporting me and we will get what’s meant to be for us thank you for all the support 1600 till the death of me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview!
