Hey Jahsiaah! So excited to be chatting with you, you started your acting career at a very young age, what inspired you to pursue acting?
My mom would always I’ve been funny since a baby. She said I would make these funny faces that would Make everyone laugh.
I remember sitting with One of my older brothers Dashey , who by the way is 14 years older than me, and watching videos, one of my favorite rappers was Drake and the other Was two chains and I would imitate them in the videos. Sometimes I would do mini concerts for my mom and dad. I would makeup different rapper names to call myself one name would be King Siaah and another would be drake chains a mixture between drake and two chains . So from as far as I can remember I loved to play different characters.
Do you have any rituals before filming a show?
Well I haven’t quite landed anything yet but through working with one of my acting coaches Ms. Wendy as a loosening up tool I do some tongue twisters like Big Black Cat saying that a few times , it loosens me up. The reason my acting coach has me doing those tongue twisters is because I talk fast sometimes and jumbles all my words together
Are there any acting projects in the works you can tell us about?
Not at the moment but as soon as the right part comes along.
What are your friends and parents’ thoughts on your career in acting?
My friends and especially my family are extremely supportive. My mom and dad are my biggest supporters! Making sure I’m at every acting lesson and always having words of encouragement. Always keeping me motivated. Reminding me that when one door closes two more open .
What goals have you set out for yourself in your career?
My ultimate goal is to land a tv series for kids and families. I would also have to say that another goal of mines is to do a campaign ad with Nike I just love there sneakers and clothes .
Overall, how has this whole acting career experience been for you so far?
So far it has been a great experience! Learning a bunch a different scripts , doing improv! It has been really fun! Working with different kinds of emotions, Happy, sad, mad ,I love it!
What’s your favorite part about being an actor?
I would have to say my favorite part is pretending to play different characters.
Do you have any advice for anyone trying to make it as an actor?
My advice would be to practice every day and have fun doing it!
Do you have any other talents other than acting?
Yes I like modeling. I like fashion and having my picture taken. I enjoy dressing up and taking pictures. It’s like playing a character only with no words.
What led you to try modeling?
I don’t think any one thing in particular led me to want to try modeling other than the fact that one I like fashion and taking pictures.
What would you say is your favorite thing to do? Modeling or Acting?
I would have say I like doing both, but if I had to pick only one I would have to say acting.
Do you have any other passions other than acting or modeling?
Yes I actually really like to play basketball. I play all the times with my brothers and sometimes my little sister Jahleni. She likes to tag along with us sometimes lol
