Your new single, “What A Life” has an amazing message for your supporters and has been gaining a great reaction from them. How did this song come about? & Can you explain the meaning of the song?
The lyrics came from superstar songwriter Blu June who wrote for so many amazing pop artists. Then my team in LA composed the music and when they sent it to me I really connected with it because I thought “what a life”! I am from a small town and who gets to record their own music, go to LA, and have fans all around the world? What a life!
Can we expect any new music soon? If so can you spill some details about them?
Yes! I have Doo Wop which just dropped this week and is has a really cool Meghan Trainor feel to it. Good for your summer playlist for sure. The third song called Mirror, will be a giant of a summer song, slowing down the melody a little bit and I think it will connect with a lot of teens out there. And I am working on a fourth as we speak!
Are there any other projects in the works you can tell us about?
Once I have several original songs out, I will be working on some live performances and tours.
I watched your newest music video for your new single, “What A Life”. How did the idea for this music video come about? & Whats the process to make a “Izzee” music video?
We have weekly calls to go over creative ideas. We wanted something really cool and big to symbolize What a Life, so what’s better than being 37 stories up in LA on a helipad!? It was pretty epic!
Any fun moments while on set?
LOL yes, when I was on the helipad the drone that was capturing the footage was chasing me! LOL. It was coming so close to my head, I thought I would have to jump off the building to get away from it.
Are you going on tour to promote your new music anytime soon?
I need to build up my library of songs first. That is what I am working on now. I have lots of really supportive fans so I will want to eventually go on tour to meet all the people that love my music.
What’s an average day for you look like right now?
Well school is still in session, so I am just like every other teen right now with homework, track and field, year end musical and talent shows. But all my evenings and weekends are for my music, either guitar lessons, dance lessons or working on new songs.
If you weren’t doing music, what would you want to be doing?
Well I have been playing guitar and dancing since I was very young, so I probably would have continued to dance competitively. I would have loved to be a house architect, but I love music way more so I have to follow my heart.
Any last things you want to tell your supporters?
I have to say to them that right now I am trying a lot of different types of sounds and songs to see what everyone likes best. Keep sending feedback and I will take everything in a positive way to improve and put out music my fans like. Look, I know everyone won’t like Izzee Music, and that’s ok, but it has to feel good to me and to my fans. That’s why I do this.
