How did you get started in the music business?

i began playing guitar at age 10, and by 15 I was playing live club gigs in my hometown. A few years later, I relocated to New York City and began playing with a variety of artists in Jazz, Pop and R&B. From there, I became immersed in the whole NYC scene.

You are gearing up for the release of your debut, instrumental solo album! Can you tell us what this album means to you?

My new album “ACE” is a representation of the many musical journeys I have been fortunate to take throughout my 20s. We cover a lot of musical territory within the album, though I think it’s fair to say that it’s a particularly guitar-focused album.

How excited are you to get this new music out into the world?

Very excited! This album has been a long time in the making, so I can’t wait for people to hear it.

How did this album come about? & Can you tell us the meaning behind the album?

“ACE” started out as a meeting of myself, bassist Alexander Claffy and drummer Kush Abadey. The album name “ACE” is simply made up of the first letter of each of our last names. To me, it was the simplest way to represent the meeting of three creative musical minds.

Any fun moments while creating the album?

We spent roughly a year recording the album, and ended up with about 30 songs recorded. Though we narrowed it down to just 10 songs, most of the songs began as experiments in the studio. The whole process was a lot of fun.

What song are you most excited to perform from this new album?

Probably the song “Ace of Hearts”. For me, it says everything you need to know about the album in about 2 minutes, but ends up being something that we can really stretch out on during live shows.

What does it feel like to perform your own music live in front of your supporters?

For me, there is no better feeling than getting to perform your own music live. After spending a year or more in the studio perfecting the album, getting to experiment with the music in front of a live audience is a great and necessary part of the creative process.

How do you want your relationship to be with your supporters?

I’ve been fortunate to have great supporters of my music all over the world. It’s always a privilege to know that people are listening, and actively supporting creative music.

What was the craziest fan encounter you have had?

Not sure, but it’s still a little crazy to me when people recognize me on the street. It’s always a pleasure to meet people who know my music, and I’ve been fortunate to meet new fans in numerous places around the world – from the NYC subway, to London, Hong Kong and more.

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your supporters?

Instagram has been the best platform for me to connect with supporters around the world. It’s amazing how many great people I’ve met through Instagram, it has become a real hub for creative musicians and artists to convene online.

Are there any other projects in the works you can tell us about?

Currently, I am planning to get this music on the road. You’ll hear more about ACE very soon!

Do you have any last things you want to tell your supporters?

Thanks for listening, and I am excited to share more music with you soon.
