Hey Olivia! So excited to be chatting with you again. Your new single “Caught Up” has been getting an amazing reaction from your supporters and it just won April’s “Best Song of the Month” contest with Songwriter Universe Magazine!! What’s been your reaction to all the success the new single has been having & what was it like to win this contest?!?
Its my second time winning and it’s so fulfilling that my songs are still making an impact. It’s awesome to see growth in my own music, because it’s my goal to continue to get better and better. I’m finally seeing a different reaction with my fans, they really see my heart and soul being poured into my craft and in return I’m getting so much more support.
Can you tell us the meaning of the song and how it came about?
I recorded the song in October when I started dating my current boyfriend. He really was the first person I truly fell in love with and writing with such deep feelings made the process so much easier. It’s about me falling so easily for him and how I really did get caught up in spending every second with him, and the happiness I feel with him. We grew up in the same neighborhood in New Jersey and attended the same school since first grade.
We are so excited to be premiering the music video for your new single, “Caught Up”. Can you tell us about the new video & how the idea got created?
I spent hours watching my role models videos and wanted to showcase myself, just me, no crazy scenes only the piano and my boyfriend and me. Ella Mai and Sza are really big role models of mine and I love the messages behind their videos. The videographers we used, Timeline Visuals are also local Jersey guys, Danny and Joey. They are so sweet and hardworking guys and totally understood what I wanted. It was a really fun shoot. The piano scene was shot inside my local vocal coaches house, Elisa Girlando. So you can say this music video brings together many of the things I hold close to my heart.
Any fun moments while on the set?
Getting to sing the song to Riley, my boyfriend who I wrote the song about was just so special, almost surreal. My heart actually melted seeing how happy he was to have me sing it to him for the first time while on set and you can see his true reaction on the video.
With such a massive following, why do you think social media is so important to artists today?
It’s the only way to stay connected so personally with your fans. I can post and dm and comment back to all my supporters and they can stay updated with all my music related projects!
What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?
Instagram, it’s my favorite app and I can stay connected to my friends and followers it’s the best of both worlds
How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?
As cliche as it sounds I want to be as close as possible, I’m friends with some of my supporters. I truly would be nowhere without them and I owe everything to them.
Are there any other projects in the works you can tell us about?
I have a second song I’m so excitedddd to release!! It’s really different from anything I’ve ever made and I’m so exited to finally move to LA in a couple months for college and start working on an EP!
Any last things you would like to tell your supporters?
I’m gonna continue to change and grow and work on myself and my passion and there’s gonna be ups and downs but I want them to know I’m so thankful and will always work as hard as I can because making others happy while doing something I love is the greatest thing in the world.
