Did you ever think that the sounds of soda cans and zippers could make a great song? Well, wonder no more because JBACH’s “When the Dark Comes” proves that it can be done. The singer-songwriter has a new track that just came out, and we are so excited to premiere the music video!!

Hey JBACH!! So excited to be chatting with you!! Now that it’s officially fall!! How was your summer?

OMG HI

My summer was incredible. I finally got to put out music which is something I’ve wanted to do since I moved to LA and started writing 3 years ago. I played a sold out show, shot two music videos, rewatched The Office. It’s been a summer for the books.

You just released your new single, “When the Dark Comes” – a tune to perfectly end the summer with! How did this song come about?

I’ve been really inspired by LAUV and his project, and I remember going in with my buddy Taylor Sparks and wanting to create something with really unique percussion and plucky guitar melodies. As soon as I heard him play the lick that ends up opening the song I was like YUP. THAT. And the song pretty much happened.

This song is basically about like, ok. So you know how a lot of people ending up choosing the guy that’s not the best for them instead of the nice cool guy (like me), and then getting hurt? This song is about seeing someone you can tell has been hurt before, whether you know them or not, and just being straight up and saying, “Hey tell me what you need to do know about me to make you feel comfortable. Because when things get tough I’m not going to abandon you.”

IT’S CUTE RIGHT?

We are so excited to be premiering your new music video for “When The Dark Comes”. How excited are you that this video is finally out into the world?

OMG SO EXCITED. I shot this with my super good friends Steph and Nick, it was so fun going out and shooting in daylight and then watching the sunset and shooting at night. Also like towards the end we had to relocate because I swear we heard a mountain lion in the grass somewhere nearby. I thought it would be the end of JBACH, but to be fair I would’ve totally fist fought the lion. I’M FROM DETROIT I KNOW HOW TO THROW DOWN.

What has been your reaction to all the success of the new single?

Honestly I’m just psyched whenever anyone listens to my music. I’m really just in the beginning stages so I’m not expecting millions of streams, I’m just genuinely excited when anyone takes the time to listen to my stuff and enjoy it. Like I’m an independent artist, I made that song out of nothing, and people loving it and dancing to it and getting it stuck in their heads is so so so cool to me because I’m like “nobody”. But no one cares! People care about great music, great music turns nobodies into somebodies.

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your supporters?

I’m an instagram FIEND, I spend like 2 hours a day on there. An endless supply of videos where people play with slime? Sign me up. I try to not be too serious on my socials, I feel like I need to embrace the weirdo that I am and people relate more to that than some dude pretending he’s some big pop star already.

Are there any projects in the works you can tell us about?

Nothing I can TELL YOU about, but trust that some reeeeally big stuff is coming soon. 🙂

Do you have any last things you want to tell your supporters?

ILY GUYS BE SAFE EAT YOUR VEGETABLES DON’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT A COAT, IT’S COLD OUTSIDE AND YOU HAVEN’T GOTTEN YOUR FLU SHOT YET.
