So Isabella, what inspired you to try music?
I’ve been drawn towards music since my youth. I have a passion for music which I have pursued through singing, songwriting and playing the piano. Listening to great musicians and studying this beautiful craft has kept me involved and committed.

How would you describe your musical style?
A combination of pop, tropical, latin and soul. I really enjoy combining elements form genres that have impacted my songwriting. I’ve had the opportunity to experiment with gypsy, rock, jazz and folk.

What artists do you look up to right now?
I like Bruno Mars, Mariah Carey, Draco Rosa and Ricky Martin. I admire their songwriting, their presence and style. I grew up listening to Mariah and have always seen her as an icon.

I watched the music video for your debut single, “Olé”. Both the song and music video are amazing. What is the story behind that song?
Olé is about a king and a young woman who fall in love. The king is regal from the inside out and the she is special. The single centers around the idea that love is life’s truth.

What inspired the idea for the music video?
The director described to me a specific vision of what she wanted to portray in the video. It connected with the ideas I had; I was inspired by flamenco and gypsy culture from Andalusia Spain. We kept the scenes modern with dance sequences.

What was the process like for actually making a music video?
After studying the song we shared our ideas and vision for the video. We discussed the scenes and looks that would bring the themes of Olé to life. The video was shot in two days.

Can you tell us a little bit about your upcoming EP? What song are you most proud of on the EP?
All of the songs are special to me. I am particularly attached to Olé because of the beautiful season it represents in my life.

Another big accomplishment of yours is in 2016, you collaborated with Capitol Records artist BJ The Chicago Kid on the single “Love Inside” from his debut album “In My Mind”, which is nominated for “Best R&B Album” at the 2017 Grammy Awards. Can you tell us what it was like to work with such a huge artist in the industry?
BJ is a kind artist. I enjoyed collaborating with him; it was a lovely experience. I hope he wins the Grammy!

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?
I use Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/isabellamuzic) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/isabellamusique/) the most, but you can also find me on Twitter (https://twitter.com/isabellamusique) too!

Are there any other projects in the works you can tell us about?
I’m recording an acoustic album because there are certain songs from my upcoming EP that I’ve really wanted to record purely acoustic versions of.

What has been the best experience of your career so far?
It has been a journey and, in reality, it is just the beginning. I’ve experienced the support and care of friends and family; it has propelled me to excel in my career and thus represents the best experience I’ve had so far!

Do you have any advice for aspiring music artists?
To persevere! Endurance is very important. Stay diligent and committed.

Last thing — do you have anything you want to tell your fans?
Thank you for all your support so far! I hope you all have an amazing 2017!
