Hey Ava! So excited to be chatting with you again! Can you tell us what you’ve been up to since last we spoke?
I’m so excited as well. Well, I have been busy. I released a new song and joined a content group called “the Vibe Crew” with super talented people. Also, I am still waiting to be able to film Season 3 of Sydney to the Max for which we do not have a date yet, but hopefully soon!
You just released your new single “WHEN WILL IT BE TOMORROW”! What’s been your reaction to the fan’s love for your new single?
It’s been overwhelming! I think it’s such a relevant song in times when the world is in an unprecedented crisis with the pandemic and fighting for social justice. I tried to write a song people could relate to, and that is full of hope for a better tomorrow.
Can you tell us what this song means to you?
This is one of my favorite songs so far. I love it because I hope it shows the feeling of isolation, and sadness but also hope I felt while in quarantine. I wanted to be very raw and real and I think it came out that way.
Can you tell us what the song is about & how the concept came about?
It’s about how I felt while in quarantine, because every day felt the same, and I couldn’t wait to “get back to normal”. It felt like I was stuck in the same day over and over again and was ready to move on to the next phase in life, so I wanted to write a song about hope for the future, for a better tomorrow. So my songwriters (Peter Zizzo and Francis Galluccio) and I collaborated again and came up with the title “when will it be tomorrow”!
How excited were you to get this single out into the world?
I couldn’t wait. When I had my parents and my sister listen to it, they cried and that’s the first time I got that reaction, so I felt really confident about it. And I absolutely love the song. I love that it’s a ballad but it builds into a journey of emotions.
Do you have any other release plans for 2020? Maybe an album?
Yes, I already have an idea for my next song, and it will be very different again, so will be working on that shortly and hopefully an EP after that.
What do you hope your supporters will think of the new music?
I hope they relate to the lyrics and are swept by the music the way I am when I listen to it. This song is very special to me, and I hope it will hit them in a deep way the way it hit me.
Will there be a music video for your new single? If so, can you spill any details about the video?
Yes, there’s actually already a music video out on my vevo channel at AvaKolkerVevo. I filmed it in Forrest Falls near Big Bear. It was filmed by Joe Dietsch, a brilliant cinematographer, and I hope you love it.
Do you have any other projects in the works you could tell us about?
Sure, I have an animated film called “Snow White and the Seven Dwarves” coming out September 18, and just filmed a movie called “Manifest West” as well. And of course keep an eye out for the “Vibe Crew” on TikTok, Instagram and Youtube!
