Hey Aaron!! So excited to be chatting with you!! You’ve been busy with music recently. Can you tell us what you’ve been up to over the past few months?

Hey! It’s been a crazy few months, I’ve been in the studio at least 4 times a week. I’m BEAT. Recording, writing, playing and attempting to live a healthy (ish) lifestyle.

Where did your love of music come from?

It’s always been within me, which sounds generic, I know, but I can thank my mother for her awesome CD collection growing up. It had Toni Braxton, Babyface, Mariah, The Jackson Five, Prince, George Michael, all the greats.

What has been your reaction to all the success you have been having?

In all honesty I feel like a kid at Christmas. So much exciting stuff is going on, even more so behind the scenes right now. My Instagram inbox is overflowing with love and support, it feels like magic.

You are gearing up for the release of your new single “I’m Here”! How excited are you to get this song out into the world?

Let me tell you, July 19th cannot come soon enough! I’ll be kicking back and celebrating for sure.

Can you tell us about “I’m Here” & How it came about?

“I’m Here” is somewhat autobiographical. It runs deep through my soul starting from my unusual childhood, to being a 16 year old alone in NYC and then returning home, starting fresh, as a more authentic Aaron. “I’m Here” is there to inspire and acknowledge that you have a destination to reach. Even if the journey is not always clear.

Will there be an ep/album out soon?

My EP is currently in the works! It’ll be released before 2019 is up.

You have worked with some well-known producers and songwriters. What have you gained from working with them?

Never have the words ‘knowledge is power’ resonated like they do with me today. Hearing my producer, Audius Mtawarwira (responsible for Iggy Azalea, Delta Goodrem, Jessica Mauboy, etc) talk about his experiences, downfalls and comebacks have been so powerful and influential. Brandon Blue Hamilton (Justin Bieber, Usher, Ciara, August Alsina) has gave me not only great confidence and direction, but a drive that I honestly thought had been lost a few years ago.

What do you hope to gain out of your music career?

I would love to perform at the Soul Train Awards someday! I also wouldn’t mind my own fragrance line and a Grammy nomination, that’s for sure.

What do you think is the benefit of having a following on social media in the music industry?

Social media is such a ying vs yang thing right now. It has to be the interaction and the personal touches you can share with your fans at anytime, which I love. But on the opposite side, it can be a very ugly place if in the wrong hands.

Does your fanbase have a name?

I’m not sure if I’m on that level yet, but suggestions are welcome!

How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?

I’m here to be your best friend, boyfriend and crazy ex all rolled up into one. My music is meant to be what my listeners need it to be in their lives and I’m here to be their escape whenever they need it.

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?

I’m mainly on Instagram @aaronberiofficial

What was the craziest fan encounter you have had?

I had a girl chase me down Oxford Street in London, yelling she was my fan AND my cousin. Both turned out to be true.

What do you think makes your fan community/fandom different from others?

One resounding thing I get from talking to my fans is that they are all deep thinkers. I like that.

What are three words you would use to describe your fans?

Passionate, loyal, and fresh.

What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?

I want them to know that they are never alone in this world and that my music is a best friend for them to lean on. There is never a situation to dark and if you are going through something bad, somebody else is having it 10x worse. I want them to keep their fire passionate.

What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

Hmmm…. I’m allergic to cats.

What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?

MAGIC

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

I’m not a morning person, but always feel welcome to say hi no matter the time!

What’s an average day for you look like?

Morning- drag my in need of caffeine self to the gym. Afternoon, music. Night, music. Eat, sleep, repeat. Pretty boring, right?

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to answer these questions.

Thank you guys! I hope you all love “I’m Here”!
