Hey Arielle! So excited to be chatting with you! You are gearing up to release your debut EP! What do you hope your supporters will think of the new music? And what do you hope they’ll get from hearing your new songs?
Hello, thank you so much for having me! First of all, I hope all my supporters will love this EP as much as I do and continue to stream and download it! Through my music, I want them to learn about a little piece of me 🙂 I also want them to think of my music as their outlet when they have no one to talk to and nowhere to go.
What does this EP mean to you?
This EP means so much to me since it’s about everything I’ve learned in my 14 years of life, when push comes to shove, I’ll always keep going no matter what. In my EP, I talk about some of the struggles my relatives and I have gone through but I will always continue to strive for greatness in my life.
Can you spill any details on what your supporters can look forward to from you next year?
I’m hoping to continue to release more and more original songs. I know my supporters would love me to continue writing songs. Hoping and praying by next year, I can actually start performing in person again and have my own concert which was postponed this year because of the pandemic. Also, it would be a dream come true if I actually got to go on my own tour as some of my followers were asking me that question!
Will there be a music video for any of your new singles? If so, can you tell us about the concept of the video.
Actually, I have two music videos already released on YouTube for my originals, “Without You” and “Find The Way” which are featured in my EP and available now on all streaming platforms. The concept of “Without You” was a dedication to my late grandfather. I want him to be proud of how much I’ve accomplished so far and how much I miss him. While “Find The Way” is about bullying and how others should stand up for themselves and know their worth. I just finished recording a music video for another song in the EP and will be coming soon so stay tuned 🙂
Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?
I would like to say thank you so much to all my family and friends for their love and support, especially my mom and dad. Thank you so much to my amazing producer and manager, Jan Jansen of BluePurple Records for all your hard work and dedication towards my music. Thank you for always believing in me, I’ve learnt so much from you! Thank you also to James Nickle of Cleveland Sound Lab. You are one of the coolest producers I know! You make everything really fun whenever we work together. Thank you to MH Productions/MH Family for your continued support. If you are interested in singing, dancing, modelling or acting, DM them on Instagram @MarkyHughProductions_.
What do you want your supporters to know that you think is important?
I want my supporters to know that anything is possible if you work hard and never give up on your dreams. DREAM BIG! (This is actually my own quote:))
What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?
I want them to know that I’m so thankful for their support and they are always welcome to take photos with me!
Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourself?
In my opinion, social media is really important for artists especially now since there is a pandemic. Social media is a way for artists like me to stay connected with fans. Also, social media can be used for online concerts as well so that they are performing for their fans but through the screen!
What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?
Ever since I was little, my biggest dream/goal is to have my own concert at the Scotiabank Arena which is the one of the biggest stadiums in Canada. So many artists have performed there and that would be amazing if I could. Also, I would love to have my songs or my EP on the Canadian top charts and see myself on a billboard like Ariana Grande
Any last things you want to tell your supporters?
I want them to know how thankful I am for all their love and support towards me and my music. Because of them, I am inspired to keep going and I hope that one day, I can pay them back! 🙂
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview.
Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity and don’t forget to pre-order my EP, “Fourteen”.
