Hey Abraham, so excited to be chatting with you! What would you say brought on your passion for acting at such a young age?
Hiiiii!!! I’m so excited too!! Thank you so much for having me!! I’ve always loved entertaining, performing, and doing anything creative. Since I was a kid, everything about movies and television intrigued me. I always knew I wanted to be an actor and I never stopped pursuing it until it became a reality. I’m forever beyond grateful that my biggest dream, since I was a kid, has come true.
What is one movie that has greatly influenced your life?
I would have to say that the “High School Musical” movies played the biggest part in my life. Watching these movies growing up motivated me even more to pursue acting because of how much fun they are.
What would be your dream acting role?
My dream role would be playing a bilingual son in a Hispanic family drama that covers many different struggles that my community faces.
You are best known for your role as Nate Silva on Power Rangers. What has this role been like for you?
It has been an incredible and life changing experience. I never thought I’d play a superhero, I’m so happy and grateful I did because it introduced me to the world of stunts and screen fighting, which is something I absolutely love and can’t wait to do more of in future roles.
Has this role opened doors for you in the acting world?
Being a part of the legendary Power Rangers franchise has introduced me to the most phenomenal fans and has blessed me with skills I will use for the rest of my career and life.
You recently were nominated for Favorite Male TV Star at the Kids Choice Awards. What did this huge accomplishment mean to you?
I honestly still can’t believe it. It’s an absolute honor to be nominated alongside amazing and talented actors for such a huge award. It is so rewarding for all of my hard work to be recognized. To receive a nomination for my first series is out of this world and I’m just so beyond grateful. This nomination will forever be a highlight in my career.
Do you have any projects in the works you can tell us about?
Yes!! I’m currently recurring on NBCUniversal’s reboot of “Saved by the Bell.” It has been sooooo much fun working on this project with such an amazing cast and crew. I cannot wait for the world to see this outstanding show. I’m so excited for everyone to meet my character Spencer!
If you could have a gigantic billboard anywhere with anything on it — metaphorically speaking, getting a message out to millions or billions — what would it say and why? (If helpful, it can be someone else’s quote: Are there any quotes you think of often or live your life by?)
A quote I live by is “be how you feel.” I believe it is so important to allow yourself to feel every emotion you are going through. Vulnerability and acknowledging your feelings is so powerful.
What is an unusual habit or an absurd thing that you love?
I put hot sauce on anything and everything I can!! I loooove spicy!!!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to pursue a career in acting? What advice should they ignore?
The biggest advice I would give is to never stop believing in yourself and never stop chasing your dreams, anything is possible as long as you work hard and never stop pursuing it. They should ignore any negativity and anything holding them back from chasing their dreams. Everyone’s journey and timing is different, don’t compare yourself to anyone, keep pushing and fighting for what you love, and always do what makes YOU happy.
When you feel overwhelmed or unfocused, or have lost your focus temporarily, what do you do?
I stop whatever I’m doing, take a deep breath, and remind myself that I can do it and it will all work out. Sitting outside and reading a poetry book is something I love to do that makes me feel serene.
How do you want your relationship to be like with your supporters?
I want it to be truthful and fun.
What’s something your fans don’t know about you?
Something my fans don’t know is that I recently discovered a passion for poetry and now I am currently writing my own poetry book that I plan to release later this year.
What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?
I want them to know that I love them so so sooooo much and that their love and support means the absolute world to me.
What do you want your message to be towards your fans? What do you want your fans to take away from your poetry and shows?
I hope to inspire my fans to follow their dreams and live confidently being who they truly are. Anything is possible and they should live life to the fullest and do whatever fuels their heart and soul.
What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?
Memorable.
Is there anyone in the acting world you are dying to meet?
I would love to meet Meryl Streep because she’s just so iconic. I would also love to meet Eugenio Derbez who is a very successful Mexican actor and filmmaker.
Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourself?
I believe it’s a great way to interact with our audience. It’s also an easy and fun way to keep everyone updated on what we are working on and our day to day life.
What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?
My biggest dream is to be a series regular on a dramedy like “Glee.” Another big dream of mine is to publish my poetry book which I’ve been working on nonstop for a few months now. It brings me so much happiness and has been a huge outlet for me to express my feelings. I cannot wait for everyone to read it and hold it in their hands.
