Six years. It doesn’t seem like a long time, but when you’re as dedicated as Directioners are, just imagine what a single day in the One Direction fandom is like.
Celebrations are taking place from all around the globe as we take a day and celebrate the boys who not only made us believe in ourselves, but brought happiness, joy, love, and new friendships. Not only did One Direction teach us to never give up and always try your best, but also to never take life too seriously. Take that chance, because you never know what could come of it.
Thank you boys from the bottom of our hearts for working day in and day out for six straight years for us. Today marks the six year anniversary of the band getting together.
On July 23rd of 2010, five young hopefuls were devastated because they didn’t make it through to the next level on The X Factor UK, but judge Simon Cowell had a different idea in mind. Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik were called back to the judges where one of the biggest boy bands in history was formed.
Instantly the boys rose to fame and now they have five platinum albums. Of course there have been ups and downs, including when member Zayn Malik decided to leave the band in March of 2015, but also happiness when Louis Tomlinson of the band announced that he would soon become a father to a baby boy.
All in all, Directioners are much more than just a bunch of people obsessed with a band, we’re a family and family sticks together.
We would like to take a moment and thank you Harry, Liam, Louis, and Niall for never giving up on us. We love you more than we know how and can’t wait until this hiatus is over. Enjoy your breaks, and happy sixth anniversary, One Direction. From the bottom of the stairs, to the top of the world.
