Hey Cloe! What inspired you to pursue music?
There wasn’t really anything specific that caused me to start pursuing it. I’ve been an artist for forever. Music has always been my escape, and when I started creating it myself, I just kept on going.
How would you describe your musical style?
I think that my style is dark and dreamy … Most of my music is fairly sad, because I view sad songs as a place where I can lose myself, and lose reality. I want my music to be relatable, so that people can know that others feel the same pain and loneliness – that’s why I don’t hold back. I want it to steal reality, and bring the darkness. I think it’s what people don’t know they want, and what they don’t know they need.
Did you have a break out song that started things for you?
I’ve actually only released two songs, but I don’t think that’s where I started. I was contacted by a producer around one year ago, and recorded twelve originals. Ever since then, my career kept evolving. My cover of “Last Christmas” did, however, get me a few fans and got people to know my name.

You just released the music video for your cover of “breathin” by Ariana Grande and it has gotten an amazing reaction from your supporters. What’s been your thought on the reactions to the video?
It’s amazing for me to hear people’s reaction to my music, because that’s something that I’ve always wanted to know. People are starting to get a feel for what I’m bringing through art, and it’s insane to me, because I’ve never seen any of this before! People actually like the fact that I’m bringing out the darkness in songs, and that’s exactly what I wanted the reaction to be.
How do you pick which song you are going to cover?
I pick covers based off of lyrics, and whether I feel like I can bring out the emotion in the lyrics. For the covers I’ve done so far, we’ve sat down at the piano, and I would sing along with it. Eventually, we ended up with my type of darkness, and I had a connection with it.
Can you tell us why Ariana Grande’s song “breathin” means so much to you?
This song means so much to me because it speaks about the struggles of anxiety, which is something I’ve struggled with for years. I related to the song on an intense level.
Do you have any other cover songs in the works?
With such a massive following, why do you think social media is so important to artists today?
Even though my following is still growing, I have no idea how I would’ve gotten people to hear my voice without social media. You can reach millions of people through a single platform. It’s really important to have social media in this generation as an artist, and to use it.
What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?
I definitely use Instagram (my handle is @cloewilder) the most for conversations and comments. I’ve noticed that my followers don’t hide as much on Instagram, and that they tell me exactly how they felt when they heard my songs.
Does your fanbase have a name yet?
Since I’m just starting with releases, the fanbase doesn’t have a name yet, but I’m certain a name will be found as things go on. It’s been so amazing to interact with fans and hear how they feel, and I can’t wait to see more from them. I already feel a connection.
How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?
I want our relationship to be us relating to each other. I want them to feel okay talking about their thoughts and emotions, no matter how scared of them they may be. Even when my following gets larger, I want to try and respond to as many of them as possible. I want them to talk to me, and talk to each other.
Are there any other projects in the works you can tell us about?
This year, I will be consistently releasing more covers along with videos. I loved being able to twist songs into something personal to me. I will be releasing original music, with a similar dark vibe. This year is going to be the year I really begin my career, and I can’t wait to release everything. Make sure to follow me on Instagram (www.instagram.com/cloewilder) to stay updated!
Any last things you would like to tell your supporters?
I think that these questions cover basically everything, but I do want to say that there’s so much more coming. More music – covers and originals. They’re going to be dark, but really relatable. I would love to hear more from all of you – feel free to reach out on my Facebook (www.facebook.com/cloewilder).
