How could one of the biggest boy bands in the world, whose first four albums all debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 charts, have never been acknowledged with a Grammy nomination?

One Direction is the biggest boy band of our generation, yet they have ranked up 0 Grammy nominations since forming on the X factor in 2010. Many Directioners ,including myself, keep hoping every time of year when the grammy nominees are announced that we will see One Direction in at least one category, but we never do.

Well here is what I found out. If you are a true Directioner, you know that One Direction always releases their albums in November, which turns out to be after the Grammy cut-off date. The Grammy’s cut-off date for this year was between Oct. 1, 2014 through September 30, 2015. In other words, Made In The A.M., which was released on Nov. 13, 2015 , won’t be eligible until the next cycle of Grammy nominations.

I hate saying this because I believe One Direction deserve a grammy more than anyone because of all the records they have broken and all of the accomplishments they have achieved since forming into a band. But is it possible that during the long gap between release and nomination announcements, the album’s status has simply fallen off the nomination panel’s radar.

Some of the categories that One Direction could potentially have been nominated for over the past five years are Best Pop Duo/Group Performance or Best Pop Vocal Album. “Story Of My Life” and Four or Midnight Memories are some of the winning material that could have landed them a Grammy if they had released it sooner.

Directioners everywhere still need to keep hope though. We all know that in a year and a half time that One Direction will come back stronger than ever  and more determined than ever to give us the best album and music that they have ever done because we stood by their side even when they took time off to really grasp all thats happened to them in such a short amount of time.
