Hey Samarah!! So excited to be chatting with you!! What inspired you to pursue acting?

Since an early age, I always loved watching Disney and Nickelodeon. I really wanted to have the opportunity to be on television.

Have you always wanted to be an actor?

Yes. Since around the age of 5. I began officially acting at age 7.

Where did your love of acting come from?

Being inspired by child actors on Disney and Nickelodeon.

You are well known for your role In “A” My Name Is, What has it been like for you to be in this award winning short film?

Its been an amazing experience. I’ve gotten to meet wonderful people along the way which has helped lead to other projects.

What was it like for you to find out you won Best Lead Actress Award in a Short Film in Nice International Film Festival for your performance in “A” My Name Is?

It was a crazy feeling and I was floored that I won against so many other wonderful nominees.

How do you manage school with your busy schedule?

I always make sure to get my school work done first and then everything else follows. Sometimes it can be a bit hectic with auditions, but nowadays most auditions are home tapes which is super helpful.

What’s an average day for you look like?

Now that I am not in school due to the COVID 19 quarantine, I wake up and do my schoolwork first. If I have auditions to do, I then work on those. If there are no auditions, I am either writing songs, taking vocal, piano and ukulele lessons via Zoom, ballet lessons via Zoom, and off ice figure skating via FaceTime (I can’t wait to get back on the ice). Otherwise I’m on Snapchat, FaceTime and TikTok with friends or spending time with my mom and dad and my three dogs.

What do you like to do in your free time?

In my free time, I love singing, doing gymnastics, swimming, riding my bike and crocheting.

Have you ever been starstruck by someone? If so when, where, and who was it?

Hands down, Shawn Mendes. I had a meet and greet at his concert at Barclay Center. While on line, I was singing and one of Shawn’s security guards took a liking to me. He asked where our seats were. After meeting Shawn, having photo taken with him, and a small gathering with him for questions, we went to our seats which were decent. The security guard came and found my parents and I and asked if I’d like a better view. He brought us to the front row dead center. I got to watch Shawn perform as close as anyone possibly could. It was amazing!

How has this whole acting career experience been?

Fun! I love meeting new people and making new friends.

Do you have any other acting projects in the works you can tell us about?

Yes. I just recently booked a co-star role for a TV series entitled Demonico written and directed by Donnell Henry which I will be playing Gerard Cordero’s daughter. The series is being pitched to Netflix.

You are now transitioning to becoming a pop star as well!! What led you to pursue music?

Music has always been my first love. I’ve been singing for as long as I could talk and began writing songs when I was around 5 years old. Singing and songwriting is one of my main passions.

You Just released your new single “Movin’ On”!! How excited were you to get this new song out into the world?

I am so psyched that Movin’ On has been released and that I can share it with a larger audience.

What do you hope your supporters will think of the new single?

I hope that they enjoy it and that they will share it with other people.

Can you tell us how this song came about?

I wrote this when I was eleven years old. I was feeling sad when I wrote the song. The song title Movin’ On which is also the chorus didn’t actually come to me until I was in studio with my producer Len Monachello with Soundtronics. He creatively pushed me and Movin’ On was born. Thanks Lenny!

Do you have a creative say in your music? Did you help write all your new songs?

All of my songs are created at home by me at first. I begin by working on lyrics and piano melodies. I work with my music teacher Sinclair at New Windsor Music Academy to fine tune things. I then make a rough recording at home and off to my producer we go. Lenny works out all of the other instruments and production. I have 100% say in what direction I want the production to go. I have a great working relationship with Lenny.

What’s it feel like to be releasing your own original music?

It feels awesome and it makes me feel very accomplished.

Is there anyone you want to thank that’s helped you get to where you are today?

Everybody including my mom and dad, family, my friends, my fans and so many professionals that have helped me along the way, especially my agent Take 3 Talent, my publicist Anca Chirita, my producer Len Monachello, my teachers at New Windsor Music Academy and my acting coach Renae Baker.
