#TBT: Jonas Brothers
Oh, the Jonas Brothers…my first loves. Formed in 2005, and consisting of brothers Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas from Wyckoff, New Jersey, the Jonas Brothers’ popularity grew quickly from their appearances on Disney Channel.
I remember being a little girl and owning every piece of anything and everything Jonas-related. From posters, pins, and calendars, to the Hannah Montana: Best of both Worlds Concert Tour just for the few songs they performed. The JoBros definitely had some catchy tunes from S.O.S to Year 3000, they were sure to leave you wanting more and more.
During the summer of 2008, the Jonas Brothers starred in the Disney Original movie, Camp Rock with Demi Lovato. (Where are all my Camp Rock fans at?) Soon after Camp Rock became instantly a fan favorite, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam arrived. Not only did they star in movies, but they also had their own show JONAS. The show was later renamed Jonas L.A, and was cancelled after the second season.
The band released a total of four albums: It’s About Time(2006), Jonas Brothers(2007), A Little Bit Longer(2008), and Lines, Vines and Trying Times(2009). They also sold over seventeen million albums worldwide. From their crazy, colored choice of clothing, to their perfect voices, the Jonas Brothers were something that we are going to look back on in many years and smile thinking of all of the happy childhood memories we shared with them.
After a hiatus during 2010 and 2011 to pursue solo-projects, the group reconciled in 2012 to record a new album, which was cancelled following their break-up on October 29, 2013. At least their brothers, right? I don’t know about you, but I cried almost as much as I cried when Zayn left One Direction in March of 2015. Soon after the split and millions of broken hearts from all around the world, Nick, Joe, and Kevin decided to pursue their own happiness.
Kevin Jonas, the oldest Jonas, decided to take a break from music, and got married to Danielle Deleasa in 2009. Later on Kevin and Danielle starred in an E! reality show called, Married to Jonas. In 2014, they welcomed a daughter named Alena Rose Jonas. The couple is now expecting their second daughter. How exciting!
Joe Jonas, the middle brother, decided to keep doing music. Joe’s dating life is talked about a lot due to the fact that he dated Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Ashley Greene, and model and Zayn’s new love, Gigi Hadid. Joe is now the lead singer of American pop band DNCE. The band’s debut single, Cake by the Ocean reached #9 on Billboard Top 100 Chart. Congrats, Joe!
Just like Joe, Nick Jonas too wanted to stay in the music and show industry. Nick is not only in the DirectTV drama series Kingdom, a producer, a singer, and a model, but he also released a new album in June of 2016. Nick is currently on tour with former Camp Rock costar Demi Lovato.
Maybe the Jonas Brothers didn’t stick together as a group, but maybe one day there will be a Jonas Reunion Tour and I will be lined up for hours to go and see them. We miss you, Jonas Brothers! Question for all of my lovely Jonas fans! What do you miss most about the Jonas Brothers?
