PRESS HERE to listen to “Love U Sober.”
“A large portion of the music I’m going to put out is influenced by my past relationships. ‘Love U Sober’ acknowledges the fact that I was in a relationship with someone and we had so much fun, but after many months, I began to question it,” shares Maslow. “The sad part was the connection wasn’t as real as I thought; it was masked by the emotion of partying. Saying I want to love you sober might be more literal than people realize.”
He adds, “I wanted to release [‘Love U Sober’] first because we did a remix at the beginning with live interviews that recap my past with Big Time Rush, and all the wonderful things I was able to experience. I’m grateful for everything that helped me get here, but now I’m moving forward. This is the beginning of my journey as a solo artist.”
James Maslow continues to make waves and earn notoriety with his original music and is a proud past recipient of the prestigious Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star Award. The coveted title earned him the opportunity to open the iHeartRadio Music Festival inLas Vegas as well as KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball in Los Angeles and Z100’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball in New York City.
“As great as Big Time Rush was-and it was a fantastic time in my career-it was created by Sony and Nickelodeon. We created a lot of the music and were a large part of it, but there were a lot of cooks in the kitchen,” Maslow reveals in Bella Magazine. “I don’t think anyone can be his best creative self with that many people. Now, the only cook in the kitchen is me, along with my producer Eugene, and we create and decide everything.”
More new, original music from James Maslow coming soon.
