Hey Katie, So excited to be chatting with you! What inspired you to pursue your career in music?

My mother claims I was singing when I was a baby!! I have always had music in my heart. In my early school years I started singing in school choir, church solos and local festivals, my passion grew from there.  I love bringing music to life and it is a very special connection when a song you write touches people.

Did you have a break out song that started things for you?

“Born For This” I won a huge music contest from The Ark Music Factory back in 2013!!! I got an all-expense paid trip, flew to LA to have the video for the song shot. I was only 13!!

Did you expect your first single to do this well?

I wrote the song “Born For This” on a hotel napkin, I was soooooo young, the song made enough waves and received several great reviews as a Freshman entry into the Teen music world ultimately I was picked up by a producer and Artist Development group in Nashville.

Does your fan base have a name? and If so how did that name catch on?

A lot of my fans call me Belle, so I call my fans KatieBells…… I also love using the term “fan”mily… you really get to know some of your fans over time and I do have some who have been with me since my “Born For This” beginning.

How do you want your relationship to be like with your supporters?

At this point in time me,myself and I still do almost all my social media posting. I take time out of each to respond to as many of them as possible. So I guess I want my supporters to know that they are like “friends” to me, I respect them and their time and having their support is critical to some of my self-motivating factors as I continue on this journey

What type of music are you leaning towards for your music career?

I started off with a strong Country influence and interestingly enough when pitching my songs in Nashville I was told quite often my music was “too pop”  as I was graduating from HS I made the decision to GO POP!!!!!! American Wild released in 2018 was a transition song that did very well for me and the line up since than has been Electro-Pop/R&B/Chill Pop focused. In 2019 I was fortunate enough to release a series of singles: Promises, Down For You, WAS and several successful cover songs….

You are gearing up to release your new single “Love Someone”! How excited are you to get this single out into the world?

“Love Someone” has releases on March 20th!!!  I have already received several great reviews…. My press release is going out as we speak and the song has been added to multiple playlists!!! It is a vocally driven song and kudos to my producer, Kipp Williams for his production skills that keep my vocals on top as the music composition moves the song along at a catchy tempo with interesting bass drops.

Can you tell us how this current song came together?

My current single which was released on 03/30/30 is titled “Love Someone”  honestly this is taken from my own life circumstances and those of my friends, as we navigate the ups and downs of romantic relationships.

Can you spill any details about what the song is about?

Without getting myself in hot water??

Honestly the song concept is an accumulation of several boyfriend relationships…some lasted longer some were short lived… it’s all part of the story!!!

Any other fun things in the works you can tell us about?

YES, there will be a music video for “Love Someone” it is has been shot at a studio here in Atlanta by my video producer Charlie Castanedo of San Antionio Tx. He has done my 3 previous music videos : Down For You, WAS and Out Tonight.  I am super excited for this one. We had a simple concept and you know sometimes simple is a great thing. Along with the music video I literally have a lineup of singles for 2020… 3 are written, 1 is coming through production now and the 2 others are in the queue… I’m excited.

Do you have any other talents other than singing?

I do a lot of modeling and also some acting as Atlanta market is a hot filming market at this time. It is great to be able to participate in these area. I get a bunch of songwriting ideas from being on set with other creatives.  I also am a spokesperson for The Barbizon Modeling and Acting Program. I can’t say enough good things about the opportunities and training they offer.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

I think they know this, but I LOVE THEM. An artist paints a painting takes joy in seeing it hung in an art gallery to have eyes gaze upon it and see their vision…. Its how I feel with my music, I am creating a piece of art and it is a gift to my supporters and other music lovers who don’t know me yet. I desire for my music to touch someone in their heart, change their outlook, understand we all go through things and also we can all reach for achievements in whatever we do. It is an honor to make music!  xoxoxoxoxo
