Hey LiLi Joy!! So excited to be chatting with you. What led you to decide to try out for The Voice?

Honestly, I had been invited to a callback after they found my YouTube channel and I had said I really didn’t want to go. I figured reality TV really just wasn’t my thing. But, after some convincing, I decided to do the audition for fun…and look what happened! The best things come to you when you least expect it.

What was it like being on Team Blake?

Blake was super-duper sweet, almost like a second dad. And my teammates were some of the sweetest country boys I’ve ever met!! I felt like a part of a big musical family.

Did you gain anything from being on the show?

I gained experience and practice that I could have never gotten on my own. The show is basically music boot camp, but it’s an amazing thing. I also gained a beautiful, loving fanbase that I absolutely adore.

You just released your debut single “Sink.” What led you to release this song as your debut to the music world?

I released this one first because when it comes to songs, I’ve been saving the best for last 😉

What has been your thought about the success of the new single?

I have been in awe of the positive response. People have been messaging me telling me that they related to what I wrote and how much they loved it. To be honest that has always been my goal. Also, the Spotify algorithm has done wonders for it and so many new people around the world have found it! I have been so pleasantly surprised.

Can we expect more original music soon?

July 17 will be the release of my next single. It’s my absolute favorite.

Are there any other projects in the works you can tell us about?

There’s a music video in production for the next single. Other than that, just more and more new songs.

How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?

I love keeping super close with all of my fans. I respond to messages every day and I’m in an ongoing group chat with all of my fan accounts which are the coolest people ever. I love them so much and I honestly want to be friends with every single one of them.

What was the craziest fan encounter you have had?

One fan drove out to watch me perform and meet me and honestly it was the most incredible experience. She was shaking when she first walked up to me, which is so amazingly strange to me especially since I’m just a dorky poetry geek that sits in my room and petting my cat. Haha!

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?

100% Instagram. I am constantly posting and responding to fans there. But I do try to dip into the other platforms as much as possible too.

Do you have any last things you want to tell your supporters?

I honestly just want to say that they are so valuable and so loved and so much a part of who I am. I will always make sure that they feel heard because that’s my mission. I just want people to feel less alone in this world because I sure do know the feeling.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this interview with me.

Oh no, thank you! These were great questions.
