Your new single, “Meet Me On Mars” has gotten an amazing reaction from your supporters. What has been your thought about the reaction of the song?

Aww, thank you so much! It has been so fun to see everyone’s reaction to the song. Love getting all the messages. It’s the best feeling now that it’s finally out!

How did the idea for this song come about? & Can you tell us the meaning behind the name “Meet Me On Mars”?

Meaning behind the song is even though I’m singing about getting to Mars, the song is a love story with the idea that Mars is a place where everyone can go and be anything you want with anyone you want. It’s a fresh start with no one there to judge you…it’s a place where you can be your best self.

What’s the process of writing one of your songs?

It’s different every time, really. You never know when a song or a beat is going to hit you. It sometimes happens when I am driving, or rather…sitting, in LA traffic. Sometimes, I have the opportunity to work with really great producers and we will build a track together, and then write to the track. Other times, I will come up with the melody on the piano and then the lyrics come to me after the melody is set. And then there are the times that a title will start the whole process. The length of time it takes for me to write a song varies…it can just pour out and other times it might even take a few weeks. We live in a complicated and high-energy world where we are affected by many things all the time, and I do my best to remain open to influence all around me. If something strikes me and resonates with me, it might find it’s way into a song. One thing is for sure, all of my songs come from an honest and authentic place inside me, and each and every one means a lot to me

We are so excited to be talking with you about your new music video for “Meet Me On Mars”. How did the idea for this music video come about?

Well, it first started off with this idea of having a dance party on Mars and how cool would that be to try to do that? The idea built from there once we brought on the director and the rest of the crew.

Any fun moments while creating the music video?

The whole video shoot was so much fun! A highlight for me would be doing the VFX. We worked with the talented Victor Velasco. It was great to have him on set to help out and make sure everything was working well. Everyone always asks, “how did you do the part in the video where you are falling onto Mars”? I put up some of those secrets on my Instagram. So you can see how we did it!

Do you have a creative say in your music and videos?

Yes 100%. I am very lucky I get to write from an authentic place. With the video – I really wanted to incorporate dance because I have danced my whole life and love it!

Are there any other projects in the works you can tell us about?

Lots! We are getting ready to release the acoustic version of “Meet Me On Mars” and then in the Fall we have another song coming out that I am very proud of. In July I will be doing a promo tour and excited to visit New York & Nashville. You can follow me on my socials for updates. (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)

What’s an average day like for you?

I am an early riser so I generally get up early to work out and a Starbucks run almost always follows it. Like everybody, there are a ton of emails to answer but I usually always do 1 hr of voice rehearsals and sometimes rehearsal with my band as well if we have a show or radio event coming up. Always working on a song so I like to set some time aside for that. Everyday is completely different cause right now I am doing promotion for my new single and it has me super busy.  Not a typical day but on weekends, I love Larchmont Farmers’ Market. LA is so blessed with fresh organic produce.

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your supporters?

I mostly use Instagram, Instagram story  and also Twitter and FB.

Do you have any last things to tell your supporters?

Thank you!!! Can’t wait to share more music with you soon!! Thank you Teen Music Insider for the support xoxoTara
