SUMMER Rios Chats With TMI About Her Debut Single

Hey SUMMER!! can you tell us what this song means to you?

well basically my past relationships have been absolutely horrible and haven’t been the best. my new single trippin basically just means to me that there is always going to be that one dude or girl that you can not get over no matter what you do.. in my perspective, I was dating this guy who I was head over heels in love with. things didn’t go right and we eventually ended after 9 months. it was really hard for me but I thought the best thing to do was to try for a better guy, who I eventually found. My song talks about how I really want to fall for this better new guy but I physically, emotionally and mentally couldn’t due to the fact i was still tripping and caring for my last.

What’s been your reaction to the fans anticipation for your debut single?

honestly all of my fans have been supportive and well aware of how much hard work me and my team has put into creating and releasing this song. they are as hyped as I am and excited to hear the full thing. I really hope my song goes as far as i want it to go, and I can’t do this without my fans so I honestly appreciate them so much!

How excited are you to get this single out into the world?

I am extremely excited to release this single. since I was a little girl it has always been my dream to create and write songs in the studio and release them on all my favorite platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music etc. It just seems so unreal to actually be experiencing all of this as reality now and not a dream.

Where did your love of music come from?

When my mom was my age she use to compete in talent shows and competitions that had to do with singing so she kind of just been my inspiration when it comes to making it a career. I remember when I was younger I would always have singing sessions in the car with my mom when driving to the store or just sitting in the car. my first song I ever learned was “Glamorous” by Fergie. I honestly have no clue what the lyrics are now but when I was younger I was told I would full out burst out into a private concert to that song.

Do you have any other release plans for 2020?

My goal is to release previous songs I recorded in the studio a while back but also write some new ones once the studios open back up. I’m not wanting to give out too many details but just know some are coming very soon 😉

What do you hope your supporters will think of the new music?

I hope that they just vibe and rock with it and hopefully add my song to their playlist.. I don’t know I just hope they freaking like it because it’s suchhhh a bop!

How do you want your relationship to be like with your supporters?

I honestly don’t think of them as fans but more like friends and family. I want them to know that like I’ll always be there for them no matter what even if I can’t always answer or respond to their dms or messages. I read my comments almost everyday and just seeing so many nice , supportive comments it just makes me feel so loved and appreciated and thats a blessing. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them so a HUGE thank you to everyone.

What’s something your fans don’t know about you?

I am almost fully open to all of my fans and don’t really hide anything. I’m like an open book so anything I know myself, my fans also know even if it quite personal. I would probably say one thing they don’t know about me is that I’ve never been to a haunted house EVER. They know I’m obsessed with like Horror movies and Halloween is my favorite Holliday but never once have I been to a hunted house. I’m just way to much of a baby to actually pull through with going into one.

What do you want your fans to know if they ever see you in public?

COME UP TO ME PLEASE! I’ve seen so many people eye ball me and point at me with a smile on their face or I’ve overheard them say “that’s summer rios!” but only like 2 or 3 times have y’all actually approached me. I legit love meeting you guys so please, if you guys ever see me in public please, please, please come up to me and say hi!

What do you want your message to be towards your fans?

I want my fans to know that I’m a normal teenager just like them and I do experience and deal with the basic struggles they deal with too such as heartbreaks, family issues, toxic friends etc. Before all of this “fame”, I was (and still is) just like any of you guys but my only difference is, I put my problems and emotions and feelings into songs.

What do you want your fans to take away from your music and shows?

my main goal is for my lyrics to be relatable and realistic so if i would want any of my fans to take away from my music would most likely be the lyrics and words I speak. I want them to relate to what I write about and notice that there not alone and I myself go through the same situations they go through too. Eventually when I do have shows/concerts I want them to notice and realize I’m having the absolute time of my life up on stage. I do not pull through with this singing career for money or fame but only for the sake of having so much fun. I want them to jam out and dance with me and make that night, a night to remember and talk about.

What’s one word you would use to describe what your fans have allowed you to accomplish?

Myself. My fans have made me realize who I am as a person and a artist and helped me build up to be the person I aimed to be. I’ve found who I truly am style, aesthetic and personality wise over these past 2 years and it’s all because of them.

Is there anyone in the music business you are dying to meet?

BILLIE FREAKING EILISH. I’ve been a huge fan of billie since she was just this tiny little 13 year old artist who I thought at the time was my little secret. She my inspiration and who I achieve to become when I’m older. I’ve watched her grow from this small shy 13 year old, to now the biggest artist at only 18.. Billie is honestly my escape from reality and whenever I’m in a mood wether it’s happy, sad, or just emotionless she is my artist I go to. Her music is like no other and is different from the rest of these artist out here and it’s insane. I’d love to meet her and get some tips and hopefully become friends.

Why do you think social media is so important for artists like yourself?

for me, social media has a huge role in my career knowing that is where I am based off of (Instagram).. social media allows us artist to post and express ourself and also give updates on upcoming events, songs being released, or just personal life post. Social media also has a down side as the fact some accounts are anonymous and can freely post and comment anything, especially mean things.

What would you say is your biggest dream/goal right now?

my biggest dream is to hopefully one day come out with an album and write songs with bigger artist and more known artist such as Alissa Cara, Camila Cabello, or even Sam Smith. I would love to do more interviews so more people can get to know the real me along with doing challenges on bigger YouTube channels.

Any last things you want to tell your supporters?

MAKE SURE TO DOWNLOAD MY NEW SINGLE “TRIPPIN” !! IT COMES OUT MAY 29TH AND IS AVAILABLE ON ALL PLATFORMS 🙂 I LOVE YOU
