Can you introduce yourselves? Tell us something about each of you.

S: Hey, I’m Savvy! I love singing, my family, animals, and food (duh).

M: Hi, my name is Mandy! I love to sing, play guitar, and write songs. I’m obsessed with Game of Thrones & love to play video games.

You guys started your music career at a very young age, What inspired you guys to pursue music?

S: Ever since Mandy was born, she would sing constantly. That’s all she wanted to do. Whether that be at home, public restrooms, or randomly getting up on a table in the middle California Pizza Kitchen to sing “My Heart Will Go On” at 3-years old. I loved music as well, but was definitely more shy about singing publicly, until I got involved in the entertainment industry at age 10 doing modeling & acting. Mandy soon followed in my footsteps, and about a year later, we saw a notice for an audition where they were seeking girls age 14 and up for a new up and coming girl group. Being we were 9 & 11, we didn’t fit the initial criteria, but decided to go to the audition anyway to have fun and gain experience. They ended up loving us together, which resulted in them scrapping their initial project and creating a whole new project around us. We have been doing what we love ever since.

What is it like being in a duo with your sister?

M: It’s really fun to work together because we are so close. We get one another. We are so lucky that we share the same dream and get to live it out together. It can definitely be frustrating at times and of course we can butt heads, but at the end of the day we are best friends who are there for each other during the ups and downs.

How would you describe your musical style?

SM: We like to describe our music as country/pop! We feel like it is a seamless blend of both.

What artists do you look up to right now?

SM: We are influenced by so many wonderful artists, but some of our favorite artists right now are Chris Stapleton, Cam, Kacey Musgraves, Miranda Lambert, Dan + Shay, and of course, our queen, Dolly Parton.

Can we expect any new original music soon?

M: Yes! We are releasing our brand-new single “Wildfire” on May 25th and an EP within the next few months.

Why have you waited to put out more original music til now?

M: The timing felt right. We have been working for the last few months on our EP and are really proud of it because we feel like this is truly our sound. We couldn’t be more excited to finally share these songs with the world.

Can you tell us about your new single “Wildfire”? & how it came about?

S: Oddly enough, I was up late looking around on Pinterest when I came across this awesome picture of a women standing confidently in front of a bonfire. I saved the image and thought, “There’s a song here, but what is it?”. Then the title came to my mind. The next day, I went into the studio with Mandy and told her my idea and we ran with it!

M: This song is all about being confident in yourself and knowing who you are & what you want. It’s about being comfortable saying to someone, “I know my faults and if you want to be apart of my life, this is who you’re gonna get and you may get burned.” We can’t wait for fans to hear it and hear their interpretation on it!

Are there any other projects in the works you can tell us about?

SM: We are going to be performing & hosting at CMA Fest this year on the Radio Disney Country Stage on June 9th at 10am! We’re going to be performing a few new songs, so if you are in Nashville, we would love for y’all to come! We also have a few more projects in the works right now and will share more information about them when we can!

You guys are the first artists to have your own show on the Radio Disney Country Channel. Can you tell us about your show?

SM: It’s called The Savvy & Mandy Show and it airs every Tuesday at 3pm PST on Radio Disney Country, which you can find on the Radio Disney app. It’s been an absolute blast having our own show. We share our own stories from the road and throughout our career, play games, chat with fellow country artists, fan-girl over the latest country news, etc. We also play a fun game called RDC Sing It, where we ask our fans every week to submit fun, original song ideas to us on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter. We pick one submission, give them a shout-out, and write a song using their idea on-air!

That’s Awesome that you guys give your fans ideas recognition, What would you say is the best advice for aspiring music artists?

M: I know it sounds cheesy, but my best advice is to just keep going. There are going to be a lot of people who will tell you no and unfortunately there will be ups and downs. But you can’t let that get to you. You just have to keep pushing on, stay positive, and do whatever it takes to follow your dream! And also, practice, practice, practice.

S: I agree with Mandy!

Do you guys have any last things you want to tell your supporters?

SM: We just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years and who has continued to support us. Our fans are incredible and have believed in us non-stop since the beginning. Their encouragement mean the world to us! We wouldn’t be anywhere without y’all.
