How did you get started in the music business?

I don’t remember ever not having music in my life, but actually pursuing it as a career was when I was in college in Santa Bárbara. I was in a songwriting class, and the final was to write a song – the one song that got picked would be sung in front of a celebrity guest. My song got picked, and the celeb happened to be the legendary Kenny Loggins. He told me, “I’m not telling you to drop out of school, but pack your bags and pursue music.” So, I did exactly that, and the rest is history in the making.

How would you describe your musical style as an artist?

My musical style as an artist is country, pop, rock. Sass and heart wrapped up in a melody and rhyming words.

What artists do you look up to right now?

Trisha Yearwood. I was at a concert of hers, and she hit a huge note and made me cry. The emotion she invoked in me is what I want to invoke in others. She is still the Queen, class, sass and a voice of butter. But really, I look up to all the girls out there paving their own way and making their dreams come true!

You are gearing up for the release of the music video for your latest single “blah blah blah”. Can you spill any details about the new video?

It’s a pretty simple video, but has some fun cameos in it with a few my best girlfriends that some people may know!

Can you tell us more about “Blah Blah Blah” and how the idea for the song came about?

I was in a relationship and it was all these promises of all the things he was going to do and how it was going to be, I finally just came to a place that I felt like talk was cheap. I went into a writing session with Jessica Cayne and Willie Breeding , with the title “blah blah blah” and the first verse is literally taken right out of our text convo!

Are there any other fun projects in the works you can tell us about?

Fun projects ! Well, a surprising thing that many people don’t know about me is that I am 1/2 Latin, so we are doing a another version of Blah Blah Blah in Spanish! That’ll be FUN

How do you want your relationship to be with your fans?

I want my fans to feel like they’re a part of me, like they know me, like we are friends. I want when they listen to my songs, guy or girl, it’s like talking to your best friend. Like this is what I went through and this is what I did or didn’t do!

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?

I use Instagram the most, then Twitter.
